***NEEDS FOSTER or FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Jerome boarding kennels Affectionate, young, trained ~1.5 year old OTIS could use at least a foster home so that we can learn more about him. We already know that he is house-trained (keeps a clean kennel), good on leash, happy-go-lucky pup that has found his voice. He displays a little mouthiness to kennel staff, so maybe not a perfect fit with kids at this time. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Introducing "Little Girl" (AKA LG or Ellie) a Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix (approximately 1 1/2 year-old) and weighing 51 lbs that came to PAWS Rescue, Inc. from a working ranch. This lovely lady had a litter, got her shots, and was spayed before going into a foster home to get accustomed to a more relaxing lifestyle away from the ranch. Her ranch caretakers trained her in both English and Spanish, which highlights just what a smartie she is. Her foster parents have been calling her "Ellie", and getting her exposed to the sights, sounds, and fun of their neighborhood. Ellie is an easy going part of the family. She is light on her feet, eats and drink delicately, takes snacks oh so gently. Inside the house, she is generally submissive, rolling onto her back and thumping her tail to get you to pet her and show her some love. She is happy lounging on her bed, taking walks, and playing with the other "big" dogs in the house. She is fully house-trained and sleeps through the night. Ellie enjoys her food, sometimes eating 2-3 breakfasts, so she can get all her nutrients and some extra calories to put on needed weight. She also really wants to join in the feeding of her canine companions (she really wants to be doing whatever they're doing). She is new to toys and finds fun herding and running circles around the other dogs, as if they were cattle in her new yard! On her daily walks, she loves to meet and greet others, and can get quite distracted and insistent on watching, as people and pets go by. If other dogs are playing in a park, she will stare intently as if to suggest they need her supervision. She can occasionally be timid when meeting others, but mostly wants to get in on scratches, pets, treats, and sniffing. The school bus seemed to startle her the first few times it passed when we were out. And her first snowman sighting left her bewildered, confused, and a bit annoyed that it didn't move or budge. She is sweet, supremely so. Her eyes will melt you like butter, and her expressions are priceless. This little girl will be a great addition to any home. She would do well as an only pet, or with other canines. She will do well with people around most of the time, but is okay by herself too. We don't know about cats. She has limited experience with kids, but the few she has met she has liked, especially since they seem to be at her level and kind in giving her good head and chin scratches.

Story
***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Kimberly, ID INDIE appears to be about a 2 year old kelpie mix with good energy and was a very good momma to her 7 puppies. INDIE is a very affectionate and fun dog. She plays with toys and chases balls and sticks. She loves being in the backyard where she can scan the perimeter for the neighbor dogs. When she hears them come out, she runs to the fence, wags her tail and whines to get them to come run the fence with her. She loves to spy on them through knot holes in the fence. She also loves to chase squirrels and birds. INDIE is food-motivated and very eager to please. She is not a great walker in the neighborhood. She enjoys our walks, but she pulls on the leash. And when she hears a dog up ahead or sees people getting out of a car, she pulls harder. She wants so badly to go see what is going on and meet new people and dogs. She used to try and chase cars as they drove by, but now she stops walking and watches them drive by. INDIE loves everyone she meets, especially children. She had a little bit of excitatory pee the other day when meeting the neighbor kids. She plops over and offers her belly to everyone she meets. But she can be a little mouthy when she is excited and someone is petting her (puts your hand/arm in her mouth), but she does not bite - it is just a little surprising. This could be because of the herding dog in her. I am trying to work with her to stop doing this. She is also a jumper. I have been showering her with affection when she comes up to me and doesn’t jump. It appears to be helping her to not jump as much. INDIE has a healed shoulder injury from her original living situation where she was a working ranch dog, but it does not slow her down a bit. She is not crate-trained, but is well-behaved when I leave her home alone in the house. She sits by the front window and watches for me to return. She loves looking out the window to see what is going on. Whether you left the house for 2 minutes just to take the trash out, or you were gone for hours, she will greet you with great excitement when you come back in. Now that her puppies have been adopted, INDIE is being a good sport as the only dog in the house, but she would love to be a part of a family and have a playmate of her own. She was turned in by her owner to the rescue with a healed (formerly broken paw ), pregnant, and living outside. Momma INDIE is so very grateful to be out of the blizzard conditions when she was rescued. She had even dug a hole in the frozen ground to keep her seven pups warm and safe before she was rescued.
