STUART is a sweet fluffy little mixed breed puppy looking for a home. His breed mix is a mystery. He appears to be part Australian Shepherd, but is much smaller than an Aussie. He could have some Corgi and/or Jack Russell in the mix and who knows what else. He's around 6 months old and 16 pounds but a bit too skinny. We don't expect him to get much bigger, he'll probably remain under 25 pounds when fully grown. Stuart is a friendly boy, a bit on the timid side, best suited to home where he will have a confident dog to show him the ropes. He loves people of all ages. Stuart loves toys and treats. If you'd like to meet Stuart, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Stuart at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate, if she's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee. Ruger is an older fellow who came to us when his owner passed away from cancer.  His siblings and he didn't have much medical attention or socialization as they were chained for quite some time.  He is slowly learning what it means to be a dog but he is doing well in our prison program and is doing well with the other dogs.   He needs a fenced in yard (no more chains!) and a loving family.   Ruger is now available for adoption to a good and loving home.
