Story
Kevin is a working dog by nature but has never worked with cattle before. He is German Shepard, Australian Shepard and Blue Heeler mix. He currently lives in a home with 3 children ages 4-8 and another German Shepard but has never lived with cats before. He is very sweet and mostly mellow but does like to run and play. We adopted Kevin from a bad situation where he was locked in a dark kennel 24/7 and previous to that he was abused and dumped. He does not like being confined and will bust out of pretty much anything you put him in. He does fine roaming around the house unattended as long as he has toys and you don't leave food on the counter. We do not have the means to care for Kevin anymore and we want what is best for him.

Story
We adopted Bucky when he was 6 weeks old from a friend who's Aussie had accidental puppies. Bucky went to live with my now husband and his roomate for a year where there were no other dogs. We got married and Bucky moved in with two other dogs for another year. He was dominated by the other male and often played alone. He displayed agressive behavior towards any stressful situation involving barking and stress from other dogs. We moved out of that home and left the other dogs behind so he his now the only dog in the home. We had a baby and now 7 months later is suddenly displaying agressive behavior towards our baby. We believe it is too unsafe for our baby if we keep Bucky. We believe Bucky would do best with either a young couple with no children or other dogs, or a single person with no children or other dogs. He is a sweet dog when he isnt stressed by children or dogs. He loves attention and loves giving kisses. He loves hiking, playing fetch, and bones. Thank you for reading.

Story
Meet Beckham! Beckham is a lean, tall, athletic pup who’s ready to find his perfect home. At 11 months old, this Border Collie/McNab mix still has some growing left to do (currently 46.4 lbs). He has a lovely smooth coat, and a clean bill of health (neutered, UTD on vaccinations and parasite control, plus microchipped). Beckham is quickly learning to trust people and with deliberate/dog knowledgeable socialization the sky is the limit for what he can accomplish. He is less and less nervous about new/quick/loud things as he gets more exposure. He’s done well with a confident housecat and truly loves other dogs of all kinds. His foster will try to find an opportunity to introduce him to some little people soon to see how he feels about kids. Beckham would thrive best in a home with other confident/balanced dogs as a model for correct behavior. Stock animals haven’t been very interesting so far, but as he gains confidence, he shows some excitement about horses across the fence. He will need continued guidance on appropriate behavior as he learns about the big-wide world and what his roll will be for his new family. Activity will be an important part of his maturing because of his busy mind and exercise needs. Beckham is excellent on a leash and is newly learning about taking walks around town distractions. He is a quiet traveler in the crate and starting to like car rides. So far there have been no bathroom accidents in the house, but he is carefully monitored indoors and spends some of the day outside. He is currently being crated at night in the house. This guy is learning about toys and focusing on appropriate items to chew on… he will dig in loose footing but hasn’t offered to make any holes in established lawn. Beckham’s previous foster said that he was fine to bathe, and he has done well to trim his nails. This quiet pup hasn’t had much exposure to obedience type cues but is absolutely treat driven and would quickly learn commands for higher value snacks. He is very gentle, taking food from your hand. He has fair recall and is continuing to improve. His original home was rural, so city life would be a learning curve, but possible with enough activity. Story
Meet Tango! Active young Border Collie boy looking for adventure. Tango is smart, athletic, and lots of fun. He really wants a job. Perhaps that is as your trail running partner or hiking buddy. Tango would probably love to learn dog sports like agility. Tango’s recall is good, but he will thrive with additional training. His original home was in the city. He didn’t get much exercise and spent a lot of time in a crate. He struggled with some typical puppy behaviors such as jumping up, digging, and chewing. In his foster home, he has had more room to run and play with his foster’s dogs. He likes the females but is not a fan of her male dog. He loves to play in the water. He has also been learning to leave horses alone! Tango wants to please. Will you be part of Tango’s next adventure? Breed: Border Collie Age: 9 months Weight: 42.4 lbs Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Dog friendly: Yes with females. Not with foster’s male. Original owner said good with dogs. Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Does well with middle school age children. Other ages unknown, but he might have too much energy for young kids. Story
Meet Vader! Vader is a calm Border Collie/Heeler mix with a fluffy black coat and soulful eyes. He is house trained and demonstrates great behavior indoors and out. His gentle demeanor makes him the perfect companion. While he initially hated his crate, he now happily curls up in his crate at night on his own or sprawls out in front of the couch while his foster family watches TV. He loves to go on casual walks, energetic jogs and even hikes- no pulling the leash! He copies your mood and just enjoys being with company. He truly is a sweetie! He has this quirk where when he’s really happy, his tail doesn’t wag, it goes in circles like a helicopter! He knows sit, down, up, speak, and fetch. Vader has shown significant reactivity towards male dogs and smaller dogs. His ideal home will be as an only dog or with a larger female canine companion. He can be slow to trust new people. His foster family has been working with him on these issues. He has been known to chase cars if unsupervised. Vader has no experience with livestock or farm animals but will chase cats, so a cat-free home is needed. Breed: Border Collie/Heeler mix Age: 3 years old Weight: 55 lb Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Dog friendly: Larger female dogs only Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: Has lived with 12-year-old and one year old children successfully Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Vader is currently being fostered in Vancouver, WA.
