Story
Baloo is a 2.5 year old Australian Shepard looking for his Furever family due to the fact that he will not be allowed to move with his owner to the new apartment she’s moving to. Baloo is a bit nervous and will need to be introduced to new people slowly. He’s a herding dog so he is a very active breed and will need a family to help keep him sufficiently exercised and entertained. He is a very smart dog as well and he loves being around other dogs! He is more nervous around men so he will need more work to get used to them, but with the proper introduction and time, he will be enjoying playtime and cuddles in no time! He’s afraid of loud noises so he will need a calm household without any children. He would love a home with a family that want to take him on adventures and to meet new doggy friends! Baloo is very affectionate, silly and sweet. He will make an awesome dog to a home that will be mentally and physically stimulating him as much as possible, and will make him a part of weekend plans. Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things! Baloo is vaccinated, microchipped and sterilized and will come with his medical booklet.

Story
Millie is a beautiful, people oriented 11 month girl! She is very friendly, smart, eager girl who would make a delightful hiking companion! She is use to being around other animals, especially cats, and would do best in a home with other furry friends. We are pre-approving applicants. To schedule an appointment, first fill out our adoption application ( https://cb8f5fb7-0a87-40fa-8ea5-50c4da40acd3.filesusr.com/ugd/c8cb9f_8cd13866ecd54a42a2b424d2b2f8dc10.pdf ). This will ask you questions about which animal you’re interested in, your family, other furry members in the household, whether you own or rent your home and who your Veterinarian is. These allow us to make the best match possible. We touch base with your landlord due to the unfortunate number of landlords who do not allow pets in Franklin County. Our goal with checking in with your Veterinarian is to ensure that the animals of FCAR receive the medical care they deserve. Once we have a positive reference from your landlord (if you rent) and Veterinarian, we will contact you to schedule an appointment with us! If you don't have any pets we understand you would not have a vet reference and we ask for applicants to substitute a personal reference. Please keep in mind, appointments are first come, first serve, based on when your application is approved. Please be patient with your Veterinarian and landlord, as their staff and businesses have been affected by COVID-19 as well. We are incredibly thankful that there has been no shortage in interest! This being said, our staff is limited and we are doing our absolute best to approve applications in a timely manner. This process can take up to a few weeks, but most are approved before then.
