Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Looking for a furry companion who's both cuddly and active? Meet Fletcher! This fit, athletic boy would love nothing more than to head out on hikes or runs with his person and then to cuddle up on the couch. Fletcher is a very sweet boy who's been waiting patiently for his forever home for a long time. Unfortunately, he and his littermates were orphans who came into rescue with Parvo, which meant they missed out on some critical weeks of puppy socialization with lots of people. As a result, Fletchie's naturally timid and shy around new folks, but he definitely warms up given a little time. He's made great strides with this and has learned to associate guests with goodies. Fletcher loves his doggie companion, but he would probably adjust well to being an only dog; he'd love having all the attention! Careful introductions are recommended when introducing him to new dogs, as he can be a bit defensive and intimidated. He was raised in a household with cats and, although he's not living with one right now, he'd likely accept feline companions again very quickly. Fletcher has attended two training classes in basic obedience and really enjoys doing short training sessions each evening at home with lots of treats. He does these practices with his housemate and he knows how to work in a team (doing a down stay while his friend comes, etc.) He's very eager to please his person. Fletcher isn't a big chewer, doesn't shed much, and is happy spending time in his crate with his toys when necessary. He'll even bring some of his toys back inside, so you don't have to go out and collect them all. And once he bonds with his caregiver, he is the sweetest, warmest guy in the world. He loves to sit on laps, give kisses, and cuddle forever. Just keep in mind that Fletcher requires a fenced yard. Don't miss out on the opportunity to welcome this amazing furry friend into your home! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.    **Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com** April 21, 2024, 12:25 pm
