Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sully Sully is a 9-year-old Australian Shepherd he was born in 2016 and weighs aprox 45 pounds. While he may be considered a senior, Sully still has plenty of energy and loves being involved in daily life and is looking for a loving forever family. Sully is friendly with new people and has done well with visitors in the home. He forms strong bonds and prefers to be near his person whenever possible. In the evenings, he settles down nicely and enjoys cuddling close. He knows sit, lay down, shake, and leave it, walks well on leash, enjoys car rides, and is housetrained. He’s very food-motivated, which makes continued training both fun and rewarding. Sully enjoys daily walks, zooming around the yard, and spending time with his people. He can play a bit rough when excited, so a home with older kids may be the best fit. He has previously lived with a cat and enjoyed playing though proper introductions are necessary. It is also noted that he has done well with other dogs. He does like to bark at bicycles, motorcycles, trucks, and when people or dogs pass by the house. This is something that is being worked on and will benefit from continued consistency and patience. Sully absolutely loves food. He will counter surf and search for any accessible snacks if given the opportunity. His future family will need to be mindful about keeping counters and tables clear and limit Sully's access to the kitchen.  He is not a fan of being kenneled and has been known to escape. However, when left free in the home, he has not been destructive, aside from investigating for food. Sully  enjoys being brushed and with his medium-length double coat regular brushing  grooming is required to prevent matting.  Sully is a loving, loyal companion who thrives on connection. With structure, companionship, and a little kitchen awareness, he will make a wonderful addition to the right home.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.    **Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com** February 24, 2026, 5:05 pm

Story
Meet Dak! At 3 years old, Dak is in his prime full of life, enthusiasm, and ready for action! He has lots of energy to release and would thrive with an active family who enjoys walks, play sessions, training time, and maybe even outdoor adventures. Dak has lived with younger children, but he does best with older kids who understand boundaries and can respect his space when he needs it. He’s a good boy he just appreciates a little mutual understanding. Now, let’s talk about his special talent… Dak is a bit of an escape artist! He’s been known to hop fences and make a bold dash through an open door. But here’s the good news: he is incredibly smart and a quick learner. With consistent training, structure, and a solid routine, Dak has all the potential to break that cycle. He just needs someone committed to helping him channel his energy in positive ways. Dak truly blossoms when he has a canine companion. He builds confidence from other dogs and becomes much more social and relaxed when he’s not the only pup in the home. Because of this, he would do best going to a home with another dog to help him adjust and feel secure in new environments. If you’re looking for a bright, energetic dog who will thrive with guidance, companionship, and a little patience, Dak might just be your perfect match. With the right structure and a furry best friend by his side, this smart boy is ready to become an incredible lifelong companion.

Story
*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT *** Meet Summit! He is currently in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and he is almost ready to show off his new skills! His new abilities include 'sit', 'wave', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Summit is up for just about anything! He is ready to play all day or lounge around cuddled up on the couch with you. He wants attention & love from just about anyone looking to give it. He really likes to play with other dogs too. He may need reminders to not be rough and to take breaks, but he listens well. While we think he'll do fine with kids - he may jump on them & not realize he can knock them down. When we introduced Summit to our cat, he didn't seem to care. We do think with supervision and time he should be able to successfully live with them. He is crate trained, and it's something we highly recommend for him. He's shown us he can be a naughty puppy when he is left to his own devices. Summit is a really happy go lucky pup looking for a fresh start. He might just be what you are looking for. He’ll be graduating near the middle of March! Apply to meet him today!

New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Just look at that little tail nubbin'! Cayse is a joy to have around and is such a smart guy. He really enjoys attention from people and will gladly accept a belly rub on any given day. Cayse does ok with other dogs, but his natural herding instincts sometimes override his good boy brain, and he starts nipping at the heels of the other dogs. Some dogs may not appreciate his play style. Small creatures he sees as prey, so it's best he doesn't go to a home with cats around or chickens! He will need a secure 6' fence that is made of wood or vinyl. He has proved that he can climb a chain link fence. Especially if there is a small creature just on the other side. He is tempted to check if the grass is indeed greener on the other side. If you’re looking for a loyal & loving companion who would excel in walks, jogs, agility fun, Cayse might be your match. Apply to meet him today. He’ll be graduating near the middle of March!
