Meet Chunks! This aptly named Bulldog gal is full of squishy, chunky, wrinkly love! Chunks was surrendered to the shelter when her former family moved and were no longer able to keep her at their new apartment. Chunks is approximately eight-years-old and weighs about 48lbs, but as we know, Bulldogs never really age. Chunks has plenty of energy and loves to go on walks or chase her toy/ball. She would do best in a home with a yard that she can zoom around in, as well as daily walks. Chunks is super friendly with people and always happy to meet a new pal. Chunks is leash-trained, crate-trained, and house-trained. Her adoption fee includes spay surgery, vaccinations up to date including Rabies, and microchip. Wilbur can be good with dogs. Mayday will help with dog introductions if you currently have ones in your home. Cats are likely not a good mix as Wilbur likes to chase too much. Wilbur loves playing with toys and playing in the hose. He is potty trained, crate trained, and loves to ride in the car. Wilbur came to Mayday with medical issues that caused him to be hairless. Those issues are now under control, and he is growing more fur every day. Ongoing maintenance (daily meds and doctor follow-ups) will be needed for his dry eye, allergies, and his thyroid. Meet Casper, the handsome goofball with a heart as big as his smile. His journey to happiness has not exactly been a walk in the park. He first found himself in isolation at the Humane Society, battling pneumonia. Once in our care, we learned he also had Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome, which made every breath a struggle and left him vulnerable to aspiration pneumonia. But Casper is no quitter. After a successful airway surgery, he is breathing easy and finally able to live life the way every dog should, full of tail wags, zoomies, and sunshine naps. Of course, healing is not just about the body. It is about the heart, too. Casper is currently enrolled in a Board and Train program with our friends at Connected Canine, where he is learning to build trust, confidence, and calm. During training, we discovered that Casper is deaf, which helped explain some of the anxieties he carried early on. With consistent hand signals, patience, and a whole lot of love, Casper has been absolutely thriving and showing just how capable and intelligent he is. This boy is a true social butterfly when it comes to other dogs. He lights up around his canine pals and happily joins in playtime shenanigans. He is equal parts goofy entertainer and cuddle connoisseur. One minute making you laugh with his silly antics, the next melting into your lap for snuggles.
