Story
Will is a 3-year-old American Bully with a story that speaks to both heartbreak and incredible resilience. He first came into our care during a truly unique moment—his unhoused mom was in the hospital giving birth around the same time our Director had just welcomed her own baby. When the hospital reached out asking if we could step in to care for Will temporarily, we were honored to help. After a few weeks, Will was reunited with his mom. But not long after, she reached back out, knowing something wasn’t right. Will wasn’t acting like himself and needed urgent medical attention. She trusted us to help him, and we’re so grateful she did. When Will returned to us, it was clear he was struggling. After rushing him in for care, we discovered he had been given amphetamines. From that moment on, Will’s healing journey began. While in our care, Will also underwent BOAS surgery to help him breathe more comfortably and improve his overall quality of life. After recovering, he began to decompress, finally settling into a safe environment where his personality could start to emerge. Today, Will is continuing his journey with our friends at Connected Canine, where he’s building confidence, learning basic obedience, and being thoughtfully exposed to new environments. He is sweet, loyal, and deeply connected to his people, and he thrives with structure and consistency. Will has been through more than most dogs ever should, but he continues to choose connection and trust. He’s ready for a home that will provide stability, patience, and the understanding he needs to keep growing into the dog he’s meant to be. If you think Will might be the right fit for your home, please submit an adoption application at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications. Once received, we’d be happy to answer any questions and arrange a meet and greet with him.

Story
Goomba is a 3-year-old American Bully who came to us after one of our veterinarians reached out when his owner could no longer care for him due to very manageable ongoing allergies and wanted to surrender him. Our hearts broke for Goomba, but any sadness disappeared the moment we met him. This compact little guy is absolutely overflowing with love. It’s as if he’s been waiting his whole life to be cherished, and now that he is, he’s soaking up every bit of it. Goomba leans into affection, lives for human connection, and gives his whole heart without hesitation. He’s the kind of dog who makes you feel chosen. Goomba has a gentle, soulful presence paired with a happy, loving nature that makes everyone around him fall fast. Whether he’s cuddling close, wagging his whole body with excitement, or just gazing up at you with adoration, he reminds us daily how special he truly is. Goomba is dog selective and, while he can do well with more submissive dogs, he would truly thrive as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the love and attention for himself. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a dog who will love you with everything he is, please submit an adoption application at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications. Once your application is received, we’ll be happy to answer any questions and arrange a meet-and-greet with the amazing guy, Goomba.

Story
Junie’s story is one of resilience, healing, and a whole lot of personality packed into one unforgettable English Bulldog. At 8 years old, Junie came to us as an owner surrender in truly heartbreaking condition. Long-standing, untreated allergies had ravaged her body, leaving her skin severely inflamed with pronounced swelling in her feet, neck, and abdomen. The skin around her neck and belly had stretched and she was completely hairless, raw and uncomfortable. Her eyes also required specialty care, and it was evident that her vision was impaired. And yet, even through all of it, Junie kept going, doing her best to navigate the world with quiet resilience. From the moment she arrived, we got to work. With multiple specialty appointments, consistent medicated baths, and a whole lot of love, Junie slowly but surely began to heal. The inflammation started to subside, her comfort improved, and before long, her beautiful coat began to grow back in. But the most incredible transformation wasn’t just physical, it was emotional. As Junie started to feel better and we got her allergies under control, her personality came bursting through. And let us tell you, she is a character. Junie is an absolute crack-up, a social butterfly who truly loves everyone she meets. Whether it’s people or pups, she brings a fun, confident energy wherever she goes. She even attended a recent benefit event and could have partied all night long, soaking up attention and making friends like a pro. Junie has also become one of our go-to dogs for introductions. She is kind, playful, and respectful, but she also knows how to set healthy boundaries, earning the respect of every dog she meets. She’s the kind of dog who walks into a room and just gets it. No one puts Junie in a corner. It’s no surprise she’s become a fan favorite around here. She’s truly something special. If you think Junie might be the perfect addition to your family, please submit an application at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications. Once your application is received, we would love to answer any questions and arrange a meet and greet with this incredible girl.

Meet the irrepressible JuJuBee!!!  Aren't I adorable? Talk about outgoing, energetic, playful, a whole lot of fun and non-stop entertainment - that's me!!!!   It appears that from a previous accident, I have some incontinence and I wear stylish diapers inside to help keep my house clean! You will find that managing my incontinence often becomes routine, like brushing your teeth! Nothing to it. I have the biggest heart for love and spreading happiness! I super love treats and playing. Playing with toys, people, and especially other dogs. And size does not matter to me - I am always ready to go! My Mayday family will gladly help with introductions to other dogs. I have been around cats but not children so I will need intros there as well. I need a family who can change my diaper, keep my cute little bum clean and take me out for frequent potty breaks. Otherwise, I am your typical happy pup with no other special needs and ready to meet you!!! ##2274705##

Personality Plus! Wilbur captures hearts wherever he goes... he loves people and they can't resist him! Need some swagger, sass, and silliness in your life? He's your man! Wilbur can be good with dogs. Mayday will help with dog introductions if you currently have ones in your home. Cats are likely not a good mix as Wilbur likes to chase too much. Wilbur loves playing with toys and playing in the hose. He is potty trained, crate trained, and loves to ride in the car. Wilbur came to Mayday with medical issues that caused him to be hairless. Those issues are now under control, and he is growing more fur every day. Ongoing maintenance (daily meds and doctor follow-ups) will be needed for his dry eye, allergies, and his thyroid. Contact Mayday and come meet Wilbur!   ##2309494##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Wrigley- Heartbroken Return My Love Story Began on the Freeway Be mine? I’m Leroy Wrigley, two years old, a bulldog with a big heart, big feelings, and a love story that didn’t start out easy. I came from the 5 Freeway and the Orange County Shelter, where I was labeled “not adoptable” because no one could safely touch me. Not a single Cupid could get close. Freedom Frenchie Rescue stepped in anyway, sending a full rescue team to scoop my dramatic bulldog booty, get me safely to San Diego, and then all the way to Arizona, where my real transformation began. Learning to Trust (and Fall in Love) When I arrived at Mo’s house, I was finally given the time and space to decompress. I had my own cozy area, soft blankets, gentle voices, and regular meals. I learned what “potty outside” meant, started to feel safe, and slowly realized that humans weren’t as scary as I once believed. The “don’t touch me” Grinch in me softened, and little by little, love started to replace fear. I was adotped 2 weeks ago and now I am being returned.. I smell fear in people Its better to ignore me until you figure me out. Yea I know its the opposite but when you ignore me I want more love and I listen way better to get that! 333 rule needs to be applied with me I have to have time to decompress and transition. I do not live in this fast-paced world humans do. When I started at Mo’s she did 555. My Signature Wobble & Ongoing Care I have a very distinctive walk—one I proudly call my signature wobble. Like many English Bulldogs, I have hip dysplasia, but mine is a little extra spicy. My hip sockets didn’t form correctly, which gives me a hip-hoppin’, wiggly strut that turns heads wherever I go. Freedom Frenchie Rescue took new X-rays and confirmed that I’ll need physical therapy in my future, along with good supplements and maintaining a healthy weight. I came in underweight at first, but with the right meds, care, and love, I’m doing really well. A Bulldog Personality with a Soft Center Personality-wise, I am a bulldog through and through. I’m demanding, opinionated, dramatic when things don’t go my way, and honestly very funny. Once I decide you’re my person, my loyalty runs deep. In the beginning, I was very unsure about being touched and did try to bite—fear talking, not aggression. Sometimes when I’m picked up, I’ll still grumble like an old man being woken from a nap, but I have never actually hurt anyone. Now, I seek out affection, rest my big head in your lap, roll over for belly rubs, and absolutely melt when you scratch the side of my neck. House-Trained, Healed, and Still Growing I’m pretty much potty trained, eat like a champion, and since my neuter, I’ve stopped trying to decorate the house with leg lifts. I’m proud to report zero poop accidents. I can be around other dogs as long as they mostly ignore me, which suits me just fine. With time, trust, and patience, I could absolutely have a dog friend in the future. My Perfect Valentine Home I’m looking for someone who understands sweet-but-spicy bulldogs, keeps snacks nearby, and believes in slow trust-building with a big heart. I love scratches everywhere except my hips for now, and in return, I promise to bring goofy charm, wobbly joy, and unwavering loyalty into your life. All I’m Missing Is You I’m Leroy Wrigley—a fighter, a lover, a wiggle-walker, and a redeemed freeway boy. I’m finally ready to be warm, safe, and adored. Maybe on your couch, maybe by your side, but definitely in your heart. PS I am vaccinated, microchipped and neutered, currently I am being fostered in Mesa, AZ. My adoption donation fee is $1050.00 and you can check out how to adopt me at freedomfrenchierescue.org and apply for there too! *Please Note: All learning and guidance must continue in their new home. A dog’s behavior can change with a new environment and energy, and every family’s dynamic is different. What works or is allowed in one foster home may not be the same in yours, so consistency, patience, and continued training are key to their success.

These pups are in Scottsdale, Arizona too!

Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat or dog. We are open for adoption by appointment Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday-Sunday we are open for walk-in visitors from 11 to 3:00. NO Appointment needed Wednesday-Sunday. Please copy the link below to schedule your appointment for Monday and Tuesday. Meet River — a joyful, people-loving pup who’s ready to bring endless smiles into your life. River truly lives up to her name, flowing with sweetness and energy wherever she goes. She absolutely adores people and has a way of lighting up every room (or yard) she enters. If you’re looking for a dog who will greet you with pure excitement and affection, River is your girl. Playtime is River’s favorite time. She’s endlessly entertaining, often tossing her toys high into the air just to catch them herself, then rolling around in the yard like it’s the best day ever—because to her, it always is. Being around River is contagious; her happiness makes it nearly impossible not to smile. River is an active dog who would thrive in a home that can match her enthusiasm for walks, play sessions, and fun adventures. She’ll happily be your companion whether you’re heading out for exercise or just enjoying some outdoor time together. River has quite the story of resilience. She came to us from the Peoria Police Department after her previous owner was arrested. She waited there for a month, hoping someone would come for her—but no one ever did. Despite that, River’s spirit has remained incredibly loving and joyful, and she’s more than ready to find a family who will never let her down again. River previously had entropion, a condition where the eyelids roll inward and can cause discomfort. The good news is she’s already had corrective surgery, and her eyes are now healthy and feeling great—so she’s ready to focus on what she does best: loving life. She is most likely potty trained and eager to settle into a consistent routine. River would do best in a home without cats or small animals, and her compatibility with other dogs is still unknown, so a meet-and-greet is recommended if you have another pup. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, and endlessly charming companion, River might just be the perfect addition to your family.

Meet Lucy! Sweet, easy-going 9 year old Lucy is a total lovebug with just the right dash of playfulness. She adores people, gets along great with other dogs, and loves curling up beside you on the couch for snuggles. Gentle, tolerant, and joyful, she’s a delight to have around. Lucy also needs her fun—she loves fetch (tennis balls beware!), enjoys short walks, car rides, and then settles in for serious naps. She’d do best with someone who will play with her or in a home with another dog. She’s a bit too active for someone looking for a pure lap dog. A retired mama, Lucy wears a diaper indoors due to incontinence and handles it like a champ. One meeting and you’ll be smitten. INTELLIGENT. SWEET. PLAYFUL. Nova was found as a stray by one of our volunteers and no owner stepped forward. Seeing that sweet, wrinkly face, how could we say no? Since being in our care, she has thrived with love, proper nutrition and even professional training. Nova needs to be your one and only queen of the castle (as she deserves!), as she is a bit more of an independent spirit. Our volunteers and staff love her; they describe her as a sweet, playful and smart. She loves going for walks, taking car rides and running after tennis balls and frisbees. As a professionally-trained dog, Nova has excellent leash and door manners, mastered crate- and potty-training and knows basic commands. Her independent nature makes her a perfect pup for someone who may not be home as often, as she does well hanging out quietly at home. Nova’s adoption fee includes her completed veterinary exams, vaccines, spay and microchip. Apply now to meet this sweet, intelligent girl who is sure to steal your heart!
