Rita is a 36 lbs bowling ball. As an English Bulldog, she sits low but she'll try jumping into your arms. She is a food enthusiast and working on slowing down her pace. She loves everyone she meets, including kids and other dogs. She has moderate energy for her breed and will happily play tug or cuddle up in bed.

Story
Nola is 7 years old and this little (I’m using the word loosely ok) lady has found herself in need of a home. Nola was brought into a CO shelter as a stray. Apparently, she was found hanging around someone’s home. It was clear she had had pups recently (probably like 100 times) and was dumped when she was no longer needed. Well, that was a lucky day for Nola because through this turmoil, she found her way to MHCR. We are thrilled to have her! Nola is a great girl. She’s house trained, very friendly with people, and does well in her crate (although she cries a touch). Nola has tested well with other large dogs but she isn’t a fan of smaller ones . She’d be perfectly content being the solo object over humans affection. Nola, like many bulldogs, suffers from KCS (dry eye) and requires eye drops multiple times per day. This is a lifelong condition. She’s been spayed and had a dental, the mommy makeover, and it’s time for her to spread her wings and fly into her forever family. Nola’s owners should be privy to bulldog medical needs and continue assisting her on her weight loss journey. A lean bulldog, is a happy bulldog! Nola is in foster in Niwot, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/nola. Story
Oh Coco! Coco is a 49 lbs, 4 year old, female, Exotic Bully. Coco came to MHCR as a transfer from a CO shelter after she was surrendered by her family for pottying in the house. This sweet baby was battling a raging UTI, however her family couldn’t be bothered with those vet bills after they bred her repeatedly and sold her babies. Once Coco’s allergies and UTI got under control, we got to see what a true sweetheart this little gargoyle is! She’s crate trained (and sleeps in it at night), but would LOVE to snuggle up and sleep with her peeps. She’s good with dogs but she likes to be in charge, so a big, dumb, male dog would be her best companion. Coco loves toys but can play a little rough so we think she’s best suited with older kiddos. Her forever family will be content with short walks, occasional allergy meds, and lots of the most adorable butt wiggles you’ve ever seen! Coco is in foster in Arvada, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/coco-2. Story
Reba is a wonderful dog! We originally acquired her from my mom’s neighbor who was not able to keep her. We took her on intending to find her a forever home. That was nearly 4 years ago! We did not ever see us having animals due to allergies within the family, and our busy schedules but she unexpectedly grew on us! She is comfortable in her kennel, but doesnt like to be in there all day while we are at work. She is amazing around kids, (even littles!) other dogs and cats! She is house trained and kennel trained. Loves to be active, but tires out easily. She ideally needs someone who can give her tons of attention, and lots of cuddles for when she tires herself out. She has a lot of personality, and is an extremely loyal dog.
