Hey! I'm Nala, the American Bulldog who loves water! I have been at SPCA FL since July 2022 as an owner surrender due to owner no longer wanting me unfortunately. I am partially house-broken, know some basic commands, and would make a great canine companion as an only dog. I would benefit from some training as the staff here has stated that I am high energy and a little mouthy. The good news is that I am very treat motivated! As per my previous owner, I am good with donkeys, cows, bulls and chickens too. So if you're interested in meeting me, please book an appointment to visit with me. I can't wait to meet you!

I am a female English Bulldog. I am about 6 years old and weigh 50 lbs. I am spayed, heartworm negative, current on shots, micro-chipped, on flea/heartworm prevention, and have had a negative fecal. My adoption is $200. I am generally good with other dogs, but I can be bossy. If there is something that I don't want the other dog to have then I will chase them off. I will play with another dog but at some point I might get annoyed. There was an incident where the foster mom tried to redirect my attention when I did this and I swung around and bit her. It was more of a knee jerk reaction but it is recommended that I not go to a home with kids and I would do best as an only dog unless my adopter is very dog savvy and can mitigate any potential incidents. I was found as a stray but despite all efforts, no one claimed me. I have a “cherry eye” but the rescue could not repair it. It is largely cosmetic in nature but my eye will occasionally need ointment if it gets irritated. It can’t be fixed because it is dangerous for me to go under anesthesia. When I was being spayed, I did not do well under anesthesia and it was touch and go. The vet advised that it was not worth risking my life to do the eye. “Cherry eye,” as it is commonly referred to, is a prolapsed gland of the nictitans. It occurs after a tear gland in a dog's third eyelid becomes inflamed. While it is usually not extremely painful, sometimes a dog will rub at it as if it were itchy. Please email for an application. I have also had entropion repaired in both eyes, mammary tumor removed, thyroid tested and a dental done. I do have dry eye and need to get drops daily. My adoption is $250. I am a sweet girl and I get along with other dogs and cats but I do try to hump them for dominance. I also will hump my dog bed. I have significantly reduced this behavior after just a few days of settling in to my foster home. I am a chunky girl and need to be careful that I don't gain weight so my food needs to be monitored. Obviously recently and overly bred / C-section scar to show her “purpose”. / Skin infection / Eye infections / Dry eyes / Ear infections / Severely obese / Elongated soft palate…and more of the common English bulldog special needs. In just a few short weeks of getting the appropriate care - she is blossoming into a healthy and happy little lady. She is enjoying walks, loves to play with toys and full of personality.
