Charlie is a 5 year old bulldog mix. He was found as a stray, with an injury, and though owner was found they didn’t reclaim due to needed vet care. With bulldog breeds, their tails are often situated right against the skin, an area called the tail-pocket, which can become an area of infection. Charlie had experienced such long term and chronic infection there, that it had created an internal infection, necrosis of skin, and regrowth of skin that grew from inside (near tail) the body, outside, creating what looked like a mass and threatening to take away his ability to use the bathroom - an emergency. We had reconstructive surgery done with an orthopedic surgeon, and Charlie is almost all completely healed up! He is 100% housebroken, doesn’t need a crate, and a fun dog. Even though he’s not a pup, he’s still playful like a pup with his toys, and strong. He would do best in a bull dog or similar breed experienced home, so they’d understand his personality and play style best. He would really love being understood. He’s got the best sunshine face with people who get him. His play style is bulldog/boxerish. Charlie loves lounging outside and stuffies. He gets really excited about challenging you to take it. He will benefit from setting expectations on his manners with play. He’s met other dogs and can be friendly, but if they wanted to fight or squabble, he would too. He would need to meet new dog friends, but would be perfectly happy as an only dog too. Sturdy kids who are dog experienced ok. No cats. We don’t know how he is with cats, and due to his size and strength, won’t test him here.

Big Mama came to us during a large hoarding case, where we took in 20+ animals. We called her Big Mama, as it was thought she was pregnant, and fed her as such. Turns out, she was NOT pregnant, and had to lose some weight. Over time she has been on a low calorie (supplemented with green beans) diet, exercise, and has lost a lot of weight! She is a stout, friendly, happy girl. She loves everyone, toys, walks, and being next to you. She also loves her crate! Is housetrained when she is able to go out often. Owners would have to stick to her diet and exercise to make her most comfortable.

My name is Maliie My foster mom says it sounds like an island in the Pacific or some guy from a Disney movie. I came to my foster family so I could learn some manners. I've learned that if you sit, lay down, or go to your crate when asked you can get tasty treats so I'm happy to do those things most of the time. The best things about where I'm staying now are the toys and the dog that was here when I got here. I like to play with her. We wrestle on the floor and I like to steal her toys. I also try to steal her food but my foster dad says I can't do that and makes me go back to my own bowl. The other dog is really nice and lets me curl up next to her in her bed, on the floor, on the couch or just about anywhere. There are lots of people that come to visit, and I like to get pets and scratches from all of them. There is a girl here they say has special needs but she seems fine to me. I like to sit at her feet when she's at the table even though she doesn't drop much. I'm still learning some things, so I need to stay in my crate a lot. They say the more I prove I can do my "business outside the more time out of my crate I will get. I also really don't like to be alone. I'm hoping I can go somewhere that people are home most of the time. At night I'm not a big fan of my crate. I think the bed is the best place. My foster mom says I keep her feet warm.
