**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Boomer. I'm an American Bully. I'm about 3 years old and I weigh about 63 lbs. I was surrendered to the pound through no fault of my own and I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I have always been a house dog with my previous owners. I am said to be housebroken and crate trained. I loved with 2 female dogs and got along well with them. I have also done well with the other dogs that I've met here at the pound. I do need a home without kitties. I went to a foster to adopt for a short time and I initially did okay with the cat, but did develop a bit of an obsession/ prey drive with the cat, so for the safety of the kitty, I was returned. I was a perfect boy other than that. I am wiggly, sweet and happy to meet people coming into the pound. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. **WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Queen (female, blue brindle) and Baloo (male, blue tricolor) are a sweet bonded pair of American Bullies looking for a family that can adopt both and keep them together. We can typically separate dogs that come in together with no issues, but these two will scream for each other and don't want to eat when they're separated, so they will do best if rehomed together. They came into us in February after their owners were incarcerated and there was nobody to take care of them, along with another dog that is not friendly towards them. Queen and Baloo were both very fearful of new people when they arrived, Queenie more so that Baloo. After a lot of attention and affection, both have came a long way. They can be a little on the shy side when they first meet you, but once they get to know you a little bit, they are both very sweet. They generally do well with other dogs after a proper introduction, but they can be nervous and act a bit defensive towards them at first. They were previously attacked by the other dog that lived with them, so we think the fear stems from that. They are both very clean in their kennels and appear to be housebroken for the most part. They also do well crated. If you're looking for a couple of new best friends to add to your family, please consider adopting us. Our adoption fee is $152 (each). We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. Story
Samuelson is the son of Samuel and a cery sweet boy. He is a beagle bulldog mix. Beagle head, bulldog body. His tail was cropped. He came to us from a breeder who wanted him gone because of a cough. He has not coughed with us and was probably allergic to the bedding. He is almost 4 month and about 20 lbs. Adoption Fee: $485. All our dogs are microchipped and up-to-date with age appropriate shots.

Story
Meet Sergeant Stubby! He is a 2 year old Pit Bull mix who weighs 54 pounds. As you can see from his adorable pictures, he is a little ball of energy who loves to run around and play. Stubby is a lovebug who enjoys spending time by your side and is happy to be wherever you are! He shows potential to live in a home with another dog if they're a good fit. Since he can be a sensitive boy, if there are kids in his forever home they need to be ages 13 and older. If Sergeant Stubby looks like the pup for you, give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 226 to learn more about him and schedule a time to come in and meet!
