Story
Meet Miss Rose, a shy, very sweet, very smart Old English Bulldog pup. Rose (along with her housemate, Archie-also up for adoption) were being “given away” after their owners decided to adopt new puppies. This gal is a dream for someone who likes to go for short walks, car rides, and has time to give her love and attention. She likes enrichment games and toys, and has lots of energy when she’s on walks or playing with toys.Rosie is also content to sit with you anywhere, any time, and loves belly rubs.... playful and snuggly....the best of both worlds!Rosie girl is house trained, crate trained, and has already learned several new tricks. And she was in a home with children and did well with them. Rose prefers to be the only pet in the home so she can have all the love and attention to herself. She can be reactive around other dogs, so a calm, dog-free environment will help her thrive. Rose is a little cautious when first meeting someone. However, she shows zero food or toy aggression with people and responds very well to redirections and training, since she is VERY food motivated. Once this initially timid girl knows she is safe, she opens up and shows her belly and loves being petted. Rose can be reactive to cars that pass closely during leash walks, but her foster is actively working with her on this, and Rose is already showing encouraging progress. Like many dogs with a strong prey drive, she loves to chase anything that moves—bugs, birds, squirrels—you name it! She also tends to be a bit sensitive to loud noises and can startle easily, which is completely understandable given her past. With patience, love, and continued training, Rose is well on her way to becoming a more confident and well-adjusted companion who will shower you with love and affection.Name: RoseBreed: English BulldogSex: FemaleAge: 1 year (estimated)Weight: 42.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 5Good with Dogs: NoGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $550.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: New England IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
