HIGHLIGHTS:Needs patient, experienced adoptersNeeds an active homeCan go home with another dog or alonePrefers to go to a home with a fenced-in yard Livy is a stunning 2-year-old Australian Shepherd weighing 30 pounds. Livy is a wonderful dog who LOVES being around her humans. She is affectionate and playful. If given the choice, she would play fetch for hours! We really think she missed her calling as a ball fetcher for Major League Baseball. She also loves treats but can be picky about sharing them. She is insecure about high value resources like bones or especially tasty food being taken from her, but the NMDR behavior team will talk you through what to do to manage this behavior and help her feel more secure.Livy is extremely intelligent and athletic. She would do best in an active home where she can join you on your outdoor adventures! She walks wonderfully on leash and really enjoys being outside. She'd also thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can get her daily fix of fetch and fresh air. She would benefit from plenty of mental stimulation like puzzle toys, agility training, or frozen kongs to challenge that brilliant brain of hers. We like to say that she needs a job because she is so intelligent, focused, and determined. Livy tends to feel more comfortable around women, but does warm up fairly quickly to men if they bribe her with snacks. Once she has accepted you into her circle, Livy wiggles her butt with joy at the sight of you and wants to be scratched and cuddled. She could do well as the only dog in a home or would be happy to gain some canine siblings, especially if they're energetic and will play with her! Due to her insecurities around high value resources, Livy will need any children in the home to be old enough to respect her boundaries (14+).Livy is the sweetest girl and has so much potential just waiting to be unlocked in a loving, understanding home. If you would like to meet Livy, please apply at NMDR.org. We think you will fall in love like we have!- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Razzy is a gorgeous 7-year-old red and white Miniature Australian Shepard. She weighs 26 pounds. She is very sweet with gorgeous soulful eyes. Razzy is benefiting from one of our wonderful foster homes and is thriving living there. Razzy loves her morning walks and being outside in the dog park with other dogs. When not outside Razzy can be a couch potato, so this girl can do it all, be your hiking buddy or couch buddy.Though she was quite fearful when arriving at NMDR she has made tremendous progress. She now currently enjoys belly rubs from people she knows and even pets from some new friends on the morning walk on the highline canal trail. She warms up to men very quickly. She walks beautifully on a leash and has become accustomed to the scheduled stops on her walk for treats. She is a vey smart girl and know the commands for wait, come and learning sit. Razzy enjoys her dog friends but also does fine when left at her foster home by herself. Razzy has been living in an apartment for more than 3 ½ months without a yard but looks to the dog park and walks a few times a day. Everyday Razzy learns to be more comfortable with people and is now starting to snuggle on the sofa against her foster mom for pets. She continues to progress everyday, and it is wonderful to watch.Razzy needs adults and any children must be over 13. She is not a fan of loud children. We hope you are the right person or family for this precious girl. If you agree, please apply to meet her at NMDR.org.

Story
#### Look at this face and those eyes! She could not be more beautiful! Tipping the scales at 26 pounds, Cleo is a 2 year old Miniature Australian Shepherd Mix. She is a playful girl. She loves playing with other dogs unless a dog is too rough a player for her tastes. She prefers dogs who are her size or smaller and not too wild. Cleo likes to be close to her dog friends. They give her a sense of safety. She prefers smaller play groups with fewer humans. She is shy and skittish and new noises are scary. She will need some support with sounds we take for granted in a home: tv, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, etc. She must have an adult only home as well. She is a flight risk so her new people will need to have a securely fenced yard. We will give you good information on how to keep her safely in your home. She must have a more confident dog sibling who is her size or smaller and not too exuberant in play. Cleo and her sibling need a securely fenced yard with at least a 6 foot high fence.Cleo is getting used to familiar people. She can be a total wiggle butt when she is feeling safe. She is gaining more confidence daily and is now slowly approaching people for treats. Once she is there, she will eat them from their hands. While she is easy to catch, she is very squirmy when carried. Cleo needs a patient and calm household who will allow her to settle in at her own pace. She is very cautious but she is growing and we are hopeful that will continue at her new home. If you would like to meet this precious girl, please apply at NMDR.org.- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization.
