Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogImportant Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Buddy, and I am a gorgeous Australian Shepherd puppy who was born 1/17/25, and I weigh 25 pounds. I was born with a fused knee and a dislocated hip, but I have learned to get around just fine. My Dogtor advises to let it alone and let me enjoy my life. I am very social and sweet and get along well with other dogs. A calm sibling to play with would be ideal and respectful children over 10 years old would be okay with me.  If you have been waiting for a gorgeous, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Elizabeth, CO *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Rosie! She is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 65 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Rosie is fearful of strangers! She is good with kids and cats! No dogs, due to her reactivity! She is housebroken and crate-trained. Rosie bit a neighbor’s child who walked into their house unexpectedly. She also bit a woman who tried to break up a fight between her dog and Rosie. The owner is surrendering her because she is aggressive towards their smaller pets and strangers. If you think you can provide a great home for Rosie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Rosie. Story
In Buena Vista: Hi my name is Sven, I am 7 years old and looking for my furever family. I love working from home with my foster, enjoy going to sniff spots and love taking naps. I am the typical Aussie as I follow my foster mom everywhere, protect my house, and love to play. I am very smart and love to snuggle. I need a special type of home and a new family that will continue to help me get past my past training. I was trained inappropriately with a shock collar and I am so nervous when I see another dog as I was shocked for barking to have them back off. I have gotten so much better in my foster home but it has taken a while and a lot of snacks. I need a family that will only use positive training, has a 6 foot privacy fence, and will snuggle with me. I need to be the only pet in the home but I do well with older kids. I love to be active and look forward to finding my furever family. Sven is being fostered in Colorado for Australian Shepherds Furever, we are a 501c3 and are PACFA licensed. Please email asfmtnrep@gmail.com or PM Melissa Taylor for more information. All pups in our care are up to date on vaccines, microchipped,m spayed/neutered and loved. We do home inspection and reference checks. Sven is very obedient and smart, needs someone to call his furever. If interested, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which covers the registration and transfer to Sven's new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Koda is a very sweet fun dog, that loves to play ball and frisbee, as well as hike. He is between 5 and 6 years old. I got Koda from a lady who had him from a puppy, but got divorced and could not keep him. He is still somewhat reactive to other dogs when hiking, though now he does pretty well unless the dog is off leash. My main reason for rehoming him is that he is too nervous around little children in my home. The smaller they are, the more nervous he seems to be. He does very well around my older grandchildren (5 and up) but I have had him nip a couple of times at toddlers, though not actually break any skin or touch them that I can tell. I have too many children around to be able to have this kind of liablility. Koda would do very well in a home that did not usually have little kids in it. He is very much a dog that would be wonderful for someone that wanted a companion that would always be pretty close. He does do just fine when I need to leave him for several hours.

Story
I rescued Falkor (the name I gave him) in February 2025 from my local shelter. Upon rescuing him, the shelter did not know much about him aside from the fact he came from a garage. He seems to may have been abused in his past based on his mannerisms. He is a little scared of men but once he gets to know you is a total lover. He is very sweet and fully trained. Falkor has been on planes, trains, and automobiles. He does great on hikes and does not require a leash but when on one, does great. He is very food motivated and would probably love to continue learning new tricks. I unfortunately have started a full time job keeping me away from him. I want him to go to an active home where he will get plenty of love and adventures.

Story
Arthas is a young mini Aussie with a huge heart and an even bigger love for his toys. He enjoys outdoor activities, makes a fantastic hiking buddy, and would love nothing more than to play tug of war with you with his favorite purple rope or have you throw a ball with his chuck-it all day! We adopted him earlier this year and a sudden change in work schedules as well as a busy student/parent life that has made us unable to dedicate as much time to this beautiful boy as he deserves. He has issues with using the bathroom inside the house and has a hard time giving us queues as to when he needs to be let outside. He will need frequent potty breaks, and is trained to go in his kennel overnights. Arthas has very severe separation anxiety and will need guidance in breaking that stressful cycle with an experienced owner/trainer. He is familiar with positive reinforcement training, and we have been consistently using methods like that to help build his confidence and independence.

Story
***Staff thinks I will be ready by Late December. My foster family says Bear is the most timid and gentle of his litter. He likes being cuddled but is timid around new people and animals. He plays with his siblings but he is more likely to go off on his own or sit between my feet and watch the action. He would not do well in a family with lots of noise and activity and might be intimidated by other pets in the house. He would be a good pet for a retired couple who like to take leisurely walks and cuddle on the sofa. *** I am not currently at the shelter because I`m growing big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-302-8707; you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal. Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together!

Story
***Staff thinks I will be ready by Late December. My foster family says Bingo is smart, curious, and fearless. He is the first to try new things (like going outside, mastering the steps down to the yard, investigating the sandbox). He is also very sweet, but he has the energy of a Jack Russell terrier. He needs an active family. He is not too “bite-y” but will need monitoring around very small children. He would do great in a family with other pets. *** I am not currently at the shelter because I`m growing big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. Story
I am 60 pounds of sleek, shiny, mostly black awesomeness! Hi! I’m Hobbs. I love to run and play. I also enjoy relaxing on the couch, next to your favorite chair, or by your feet. I’m a good dog with puppy energy. When I get hungry I get anxious and often don’t know what’s wrong. I start to pace and have trouble listening or calming down. A consistent feeding schedule helps keep me at my best. I thrive on routine and relax when things are calm and quiet. I'm very smart and love to learn. General Socialization Notes: I am super smart. Very sensitive too. I learn quickly and am eager to please. I don’t need to be kenneled. I won’t chew your shoes. If I’m really stressed, I might chew up some of my toys. I’ll bring you any squeakers I pull out in exchange for a treat. I’m not good on leash especially around distractions. Rabbits, or rocks that look like rabbits, are too big of distractions for me. I definitely walk better if I’m somewhere they are not. I get really loud in the car at first - too excited. We are working on these things but they have been quite a challenge. Right now I have neighbor dogs that bark at me and jump at my fence. That upsets me. If mom comes out with me, I try to ignore them but sometimes I just can’t do it. I love praise almost as much as treats! I get excited and am protective, but I’m also kind of timid. The wind scares me. Loud noises too. Although fireworks were not too bad last year. I like to go someplace I feel safe or be next to a safe person who reassures me when I’m nervous. The vacuum and I do not get along. The lawnmower is no better. I need to be where they are not when you use them or move them. Does Hobbs like other animals? I’ve been living with 2 older dogs about my size. I would like a home with a dog around my age and size to play with me. I’d be fine as your only dog too if I get lots of attention. No cats or small pets. Certainly no rabbits! Does Hobbs like children? I think I would love children who are not too little. Maybe teenagers or near teens. Someone to play with me. I live with a disabled young man and I have learned how to be very careful and gentle with him. I even let mom know when he needs her. Favorite Toys: I like a variety of toys. A tug toy, something I can shake if you’re not in a tug mood. Stuffed toys don’t last long. Squeaker balls are my favorite. I’ll put them right in your lap so you can toss them across the room for me. That’s my favorite game. I love to leap up and catch them. I’m really very good at it. I’m AMAZING at catching a ball tossed for me and bringing it right back to your lap. I like to play that game a lot! I’ve even learned how to take turns with my foster sister with catch in the house. I’m better at it than she is! I do love a good game of tug. Ideal Forever Home: My ideal forever home is one with a pretty big yard and some indoor floor space to play too. I’d love a dog around my size and age who will play with me. I would also be fine as your only dog. I do like getting all of the attention. A 6 foot privacy fence is a must. My foster mom’s yard is in the back, away from people and dogs walking by. That’s really perfect for me. If you’re looking for a best friend who is smart, sweet, loyal, and playful, I’m your guy!
