Story
Jersey is a sweet 13‑year‑old senior dog who has been with our family since he was three months old. He would do best in a calm home with adults or families with older children (13+) and no young children. Jersey has arthritis that is getting worse as he ages, and with our young child becoming more mobile, our home is no longer the best environment for him. Our vet has discussed euthanasia due to his pain, but we are hoping to find a loving home that can better manage his needs. He enjoys gentle daily walks of about half a mile to a mile and can be left alone for several hours, provided his basic needs are met. He needs a patient, adoptive caregiver who can keep him comfortable and provide a quiet place to rest. Important note: Jersey has tail sensitivity that has led to biting when his tail area is touched or when he is startled. He needs an experienced owner who understands dog body language and will ensure he is not handled roughly or by small children.
