Story
Meet Charlie Girl! 🐾
Charlie Girl is a 1-year-old black-and-white bundle of fun with a huge personality and an even bigger heart! Friendly, affectionate, playful, and just a little bit goofy, Charlie loves being part of whatever is happening. She’s happiest when she can play, explore, and hang out with her people—and when the fun is over, she’s more than ready to curl up for some serious cuddle time.
Charlie’s mom was a beautiful liver-and-white Springer Spaniel, and we suspect her dad was a Labrador or Lab mix. The result? A wonderful combination of Springer sweetness and Lab-like enthusiasm!
Charlie’s Ready to Go Home!
Charlie is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She knows Sit, Stay, Shake, and Come, is crate trained (and happily eats her meals in her crate), and rides well in the car.
She is mostly house trained, but because she’s still a young dog, she’ll need a consistent routine and attentive supervision as she continues to mature. She’s smart, eager to learn, and already making great progress!
A Fun-Loving Social Butterfly
Charlie loves other dogs and really enjoys rough-and-tumble play. A confident canine companion with a similar energy level could be a wonderful match for her. She also loves playing tug-of-war, chasing birds, bugs, and squirrels, and having toys to keep her busy. She’s past the puppy chewing stage, although sticks remain particularly tempting!
She loves being outdoors and prefers having her people nearby while she explores and plays. She’s great with both men and women. Her experience with children and cats is unknown, so those introductions would need to be evaluated carefully.
A Young Dog Still Learning Her Manners
Like many energetic young dogs, Charlie is still working on some of her manners. She’s learning to walk nicely on leash, not jump up when greeting people, and resist the temptation to investigate kitchen counters. She also enjoys digging—not to escape, but simply because digging is FUN! Her foster family has given her a designated digging area where she can indulge this hobby appropriately.
With structure, positive training, mental enrichment, and plenty of appropriate exercise, Charlie is going to be a fantastic companion. She’s a quick learner and loves having something to do.
And Then There Are Those Ears…
Charlie requires very little grooming because her coat is short like a Lab's, although she's beginning to develop some adorable Springer feathering on her tail and legs. And her ears? Unbelievably soft and velvety. You’ve been warned—you’ll want to pet them constantly!
Charlie is a joyful, affectionate young dog who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and shower you with love. She’s looking for a family who will enjoy her playful spirit while continuing to help her grow into the wonderful adult dog she’s destined to be.
If you’re looking for an active, loving companion with plenty of personality and a whole lot of love to give, Charlie just might be your girl! ❤️
