European Burmese kittens & cats in Madison, Wisconsin

Benson is a 14 year old sweetheart who is the epitome of a lap cat. He has a very calm presence, and will start purring as soon as you talk to him. He loves to play, though, and will chase toys and lasers! He needs insulin shots twice daily (this is the 'special needs' part), but it's very easy to learn and he doesn't mind them. He's lived most of his life with someone who recently went to the hospital and needed to give him up. If he's not on your lap, he's probably napping on the couch, or watching birds. He's very good at using the litter box. In his foster home, he settled in right away and was purring within ten minutes. He has kind of a croak instead of a meow, and will gently pat your arm in order to get pets. Benson formerly lived with an older lab, and enjoyed stealing her bed. His former owner often had grandkids and other more energetic dogs in the house - he would retreat when the whole gang came over. He's never showed aggression, he just prefers a quiet life!

Kaylee was adopted by her current family six years ago. She is approximately 9 years old. When we adopted her, we were a one cat, no kid household. Since then we have had two children and added more pets. Kaylee did well for a while, but since our recent move and newest baby has not adjusted well. When we adopted her, we were told she would be happiest in a quiet home, and we have stopped being that. Kaylee is an affectionate and silly cat. She enjoys small stuffed toys, sitting on laps, and bouncing around her owners legs. She takes some time to warm up to new people but is a loving cat. She may do that well with a disinterested calm dog but would probably be happiest as your only pet. Kaylee has done well with our small children (but would prefer not to be chased too much). If you would like a sweet cat to cuddle with in your calm home, she is a great fit for you.

Sweet Pea is a 12 year old senior kitty. She was my mother's, who recently passed away. She wants to be an only cat and hates other cats with a passion. She likes people, though, and likes to sit on laps for a while and then will sit near you. She has a great purr. You have to pay attention to her when you're petting her, though, as she can get a little snippy when she's done. She loves to sleep with you. She's not very playful, but she does like the little ball tower toy. She's an indoor only kitty, but she loves open windows and sitting in a screened porch. She doesn't like being picked up or having her feet touched. I get her nails trimmed at the vet. She's a little chubby and eats a special diet food. She knows her name and will come when called. She needs a person who will love her and give her affection when she wants it. She'd be a good cat for an older person.
