Steve is not an immediately affectionate cat and tends to be more independent by nature. However, with time, patience, and a calm environment, he has shown that he can bond with his person and become more relaxed and trusting. Steve would do best in:* A quiet, low-traffic home* An experienced cat owner who understands shy or sensitive cats* A home with no dogs or other petsBecause Steve is declawed, he can feel vulnerable and may react defensively if he feels stressed or overwhelmed. He has been known to bite when uncomfortable, so he needs someone who can read cat body language and give him space when needed.Recently, Steve has begun having some litter box issues, which his vet feels is related to stress in a home with dogs.
