Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Ruby. This sweet 7-month-old, 35lb. girl is a perfect example of the beautiful Irish Setter breed. Ruby doesn't have a nice past... but we will make sure her future is bright! Ruby was found along with her sibling Ryder at the local dump, where she was left to fend for herself by her breeder. They were both near starvation, and because of that, Ruby is very food motivated. Since she has been with us, she has kept her kennel clean. We believe she will be easy to house train. And she loves her toys!   She obviously didn't have any to call her own and will take her toys to her "room." This sweet girl loves to go on walks and is mastering leash walking. She bonds quickly with her family and always needs supervision when outside because she will come find you if she can't see you. She does not do well with cats, so no cats in the home is a requirement, but loves other dogs. She is a little shy at first with new people but warms up quickly to everyone. And though Ruby likes children, small kids may be overwhelmed with her exuberance.  She does great in a crate and goes in on her own when asked and is also starting to learn the command to sit but she does need someone committed to obedience training to develop a strong recall, as Irish Setters are high energy and love to run.  Ruby is ready to find her happily ever after. We are requiring a secure fenced yard for her to run and play.
