Story

Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Arnie! Arnie is an approximately 8–9 month old, 39lb. Bahamian Potcake, likely a Golden/Lab mix, who was rescued from the streets alongside a busy road in Nassau and brought to the U.S. for the second chance he so deserves. And this boy is FUN. Arnie is goofy, easygoing, playful, hilarious, affectionate and basically everything a puppy should be. He loves everyone he meets, isn’t shy, and is always ready to make a new friend or join you on your next adventure. He’s also an awesome car companion and would be perfect for someone looking for a dog that can tag along for outings, road trips and everyday life. So far, Arnie gets along with: dogs, cats, kids, squirrels, turtles …honestly, pretty much everything he has met! Arnie is still a puppy, so he is not completely potty trained yet, but he has been learning extraordinarily fast! He is smart, eager to please and picking up the routine more and more every day. Like any young dog, he’ll benefit from continued consistency and basic puppy training as he settles into his forever home. One thing we’ve learned about Arnie is that while he absolutely adores his people, this boy was born to be part of a pack. He thrives with canine companionship and we would really love to see him go to a home with another friendly dog to play with, learn from and curl up beside at the end of the day. Having a dog buddy brings out the very best in him. Arnie has that wonderful Potcake personality — loving, adaptable, social and just happy to be included. After starting life surviving on the streets of Nassau, he is more than ready for a family of his own, a comfy bed, plenty of adventures, a canine best friend and a lifetime of being loved. If you’re looking for a happy-go-lucky best friend who will make you laugh every single day, Arnie may be your guy. NOTE: Arnie made the journey from the Bahamas with his best friend, Charlie, and while adopting them together is not a requirement, we would absolutely love to see these two boys continue their next chapter side by side. They already share such a special bond, and there would be something pretty incredible about watching them go from surviving together to growing up together in the same forever home. Be sure to check out sweet Charlie’s profile too! And to make a double adoption a little easier, an incredibly generous supporter has offered to cover Charlie’s adoption fee if the boys are adopted as a pair. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Arnie (and Charlie), complete and app and tell us more about your family. October 1, 2026, 5:32 pm

Story

Meet Ella! This super adorable girl was found tied up outside a vets office. Though it seems she was abandoned this has not dampened her spirits at all. She is super sweet and playful and loves attention. She gets along well with other dogs but unsure about cats. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccines and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400. If interested email handjkittenrescue@gmail.com. Our best guess is she is a golden retriever mixed with corgi or another type of terrier since she has short legs. Ella is about a year old. ##2856545##

Story

Hi, I’m Alexy! I’m a 10-year-old Golden Retriever/Husky mix with a sweet heart, a clever mind, and a whole lot of love left to give. I can be a little unsure when I first meet someone, but give me some time to get comfortable and you’ll discover just how affectionate I am. Once you’re my person, I love being close, soaking up attention and enjoying the security of having someone I trust nearby. I’ve got that husky intelligence, but I’m also eager to please and really enjoy knowing I’m making my person happy. At this stage of my life, I know exactly what kind of home makes me happiest: quiet, calm and all about me! I need to be the only pet in an adult-only home, without children or other animals. Lots of activity and commotion just aren’t my thing. I’d much rather have a peaceful routine with someone who is home often and can give me the reassurance and companionship I crave. I’m house trained and have always had the freedom to roam my home, so I’m not crate trained—but I’m also not destructive. Since I’m a senior gal, I do need more frequent opportunities to go outside. I still enjoy my walks and I’m fantastic on a leash, but these days I prefer them short and sweet rather than long and strenuous. And if you like to travel, I’m your girl! I’m an amazing travel companion and would be very happy to come along for the ride. I may be 10, but I’m not looking for a place to simply spend my golden years. I’m looking for my person—someone who will give me a peaceful home, help me feel safe when the world seems a little uncertain, and let me spend these next years doing what I love most: being loved and loving you right back.

Roger is an incredibly sweet boy with an independent personality. He enjoys doing his own thing, but he’s also very much a people dog and loves being around his humans. Some of Roger’s favorite things in life are eating, taking nice long naps 😴, digging holes 🕳️ in the backyard and playing rough with his mommy and brother dog. Roger gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing and spending time with them. He has a great balance between being playful and knowing when it’s time to settle down and enjoy one of his beloved naps. 😂💤He’s simply a good boy who loves his food, his people, his doggy friends, his naps, and a little backyard adventure. 🥹💙🏡
