Story
Meet Pooh Bear, a 4-year-old Irish doodle who weighs 59 pounds. He's a playful boy who lives life with enthusiasm...and a little extra spin! He’s a sweet soul and a total lover who just wants to be near his people. Pooh Bear is house-trained and tolerates his crate, although he’d much prefer to be out with you. He settles more easily if he can see his people, and he’d choose sleeping in bed over a crate any day! His foster family believes he may do well left uncrated when home alone once he’s adjusted. This boy has energy to spare! He loves running around the house or yard, going for walks, playing with other dogs, and engaging in high-energy fun. Toys are still a bit of a learning experience for him, but he’s catching on. He hasn’t been exposed to children in his foster home, but with his friendly nature, he would likely do well with respectful children. Pooh Bear is still working on his manners and basic commands. On leash, he’s known for spinning in happy circles — sometimes wrapping you up in the process — and occasionally tripping you because he just has to be right there with you. He’s delightfully nosy! If something is happening, Pooh Bear wants to be part of the action! Pooh Bear is on a daily seizure medication that must be given three times a day, and he’ll need to stay on a low-fat diet due to pancreatitis. He’s doing well with this routine, and he needs a committed adopter who can help him stay on track so he can continue feeling his best. Above all, he loves to snuggle and be close. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who'll keep you entertained and adored, Pooh Bear might just be your perfect match. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
