Story
Ember is about 2 yo., 65 lbs. She has the sweetest personality and is super friendly with the people she knows. She was initially timid when she first came to us but she has completely opened up and is such a joy to be around. Ember gets the most hilarious zoomies and loves to engage with her people. She is neutral and friendly with other dogs and we think once she gets more comfortable would probably enjoy playing with other dogs as well. Ember has zero reaction around our chickens, and was a bit intimidated by our friendly kitty. She could absolutely live with both with proper introductions. Ember has received all the training necessary to succeed in her new home. She walks beautifully on leash, is great in her crate, is potty trained, and has learned basic commands in no time. She has also learned the "place" command. Ember is a fantastic dog with a medium energy level and a solid wonderful temperament. She would be a great dog for most families. Her adoption fee is $450. All of our dogs have been spayed/neutered, are up-to-date on vaccinations, are microchipped, dewormed, and flea treated. If you're interested in a meet, you must fill out an application on our website www.wallflowersshine.com/application. We post several videos of our available dogs on our YouTube page https://youtube.com/@thewallflowersshineproject1845?si=1xL4gNyZ1N9ivEOy and have switched from social media to a FREE patreon account https://www.patreon.com/c/WallflowersmeetPackwithPurposeK9?utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator Thank you for your interest in one of our dogs.

Story
Pending adoption We have a transport leaving in May 23rd 2026 from where we are located in Southern California to NorCal, OR, and surrounding states as needed for our adopting families where we bring our dogs all the way to their homes 💗 For peace of mind we never ask for anything up front. The adoption fee along with your share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person ultimately finalizing the adoption then and there with you. We would love to add Maverick to our trip for the right family 😊 Born on 12/24/23 and weighing in at 58 lbs Maverick is everything people dream of when they picture a Golden Retriever. Wrapped in a stunning deep red coat and carrying the gentlest soul, he is the kind of dog that quietly settles into your heart without even trying. Some dogs bounce through life loud and chaotic… and then there are dogs like Maverick — calm, steady, loving, and deeply connected to the people around him. He truly is an old soul with the softest heart. Maverick’s story began with a man who genuinely loved him very much, but who worked far too many hours to truly give him the companionship and life he deserved. Hoping Maverick would feel less alone during those long days, he later brought Phoenix into the home as a companion for him. He believed she could give Maverick the company he could not always be there to provide, but over time he realized that companionship from another dog could never fully replace the consistency, affection, time, and connection both dogs deserved from their people. His sister later stepped in and brought both dogs into her home so they could be around people more and not simply rely only on one another. Unfortunately, during that time, Phoenix went into heat and became pregnant. Her puppies all found homes prior to them ever contacting us, but this was never something their original owner wanted for either of them. He had been waiting for both dogs to reach full maturity before having them fixed and was trying to do things responsibly on his end. Sadly, that responsibility was not carried through while they were in his sister’s care, and once he realized what had happened, he reached out to us and asked us to bring them in so we could find Maverick and Phoenix the very best home or homes possible. While Maverick and Phoenix came from the same home and absolutely would make a beautiful pair for someone wanting two dogs, we are not requiring them to stay together. Maverick is emotionally healthy, confident, and adaptable enough to absolutely thrive as the center of someone’s world all on his own — and honestly, we think he deserves that kind of devoted love. Maverick is wonderfully house trained and very smart about his routine. He goes outside when asked throughout the day and has settled beautifully into structure here in our home. He is not a loud or demanding dog whatsoever. In fact, he is one of the quieter Goldens we’ve had the pleasure of caring for. He simply wants to be near his people, resting his head in your lap while you rub his ears and remind him he is loved. He has such a soft, steady heart. Maverick is wonderful with other dogs and truly enjoys companionship, but he is also very people-focused and deeply bonds with those caring for him. He has been absolutely wonderful with everyone he has met and would make an incredible family dog for a home with children as well. His calm temperament, loving nature, and gentle demeanor make him the kind of dog that naturally settles into family life beautifully. He sleeps wonderfully in a crate at night, though we truly believe he would happily transition into sleeping beside his person if welcomed there. He is incredibly adaptable and naturally wants to fit into whatever rhythm his family follows. Maverick is doing wonderfully on leash and has quickly embraced outings and new adventures. He’s also learning that car rides lead to exciting things and is becoming more and more comfortable with every trip. He is fantastic during bath time and absolutely adores being pampered, loved on, brushed, and cuddled. He’s the kind of dog that doesn’t need to demand attention to be noticed. His presence alone makes you feel comforted. There is something deeply healing about dogs like Maverick — dogs that simply want to love quietly, loyally, and wholeheartedly. He is ready for a home that will finally give him the time, connection, and devotion he has always deserved. 🩵 His adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/maverick It covers his neuter, vaccines, microchip and registration, dental exam (teeth are in a great health,) overall health exam (he is a very healthy boy,) and his antibiotic injection given at the time of his neuter to aid in the healing of his neuter. It also covers the months of care, training, and grooming costs since in our care. Maverick is fully vetted, has been thoroughly examined, and medically cleared by our veterinarian for adoption.

The adoption fee along with your share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person ultimately finalizing the adoption then and there with you. We would love to add Phoenix to our trip for the right family 😊 Born on 3/15/25 weighing in at 73 lbs Phoenix is a beautiful light golden Golden Retriever with a bright, joyful heart and the kind of spirit that reminds you why this breed is so deeply loved. She is young, curious, affectionate, and still very much in that wonderful stage of life where the world feels exciting and full of possibility. Phoenix is sweet, playful, adventurous, and ready to finally become the center of someone’s world in the way she has always deserved. Phoenix’s story began in the same home as Maverick. Their original owner loved them, but he worked far too much and realized he could not give them the daily companionship, structure, and connection they needed. Maverick was in the home first, and Phoenix was later brought in to keep him company, with the hope that she could provide what their owner could not always be there to give. Over time, he realized that another dog could not replace the time, attention, and love both of them needed from their person. His sister later stepped in and brought both dogs into her home so they could be around people more and not just each other. Unfortunately, while in her care, Phoenix went into heat and became pregnant. Her puppies all found homes prior to them ever contacting us, but this was never what their original owner wanted for her. He had been waiting for both dogs to reach full maturity before having them fixed and was trying to be responsible on his end. Sadly, that responsibility was not carried through while they were in his sister’s care. Once their original owner realized what had happened, he contacted us and asked us to bring Maverick and Phoenix in so we could find them the very best home or homes possible — families who would love them fully, intentionally, and consistently. While Phoenix and Maverick came from the same home and absolutely would make a beautiful pair for someone wanting two dogs, we are not requiring them to stay together. Phoenix has so much individual personality, heart, and promise, and she will be just fine starting her own path as the center of her family’s world. Phoenix is house trained and very smart. She goes outside when asked throughout the day and is continuing to settle beautifully into routine and structure. She is still young, so she has that puppy-like curiosity and excitement about life, but she is also incredibly sweet, loving, and eager to be close to her people. Phoenix has an immense love for water and has decided our pool is one of the greatest things life has to offer. She loves swimming, splashing, exploring, and being part of whatever fun is happening around her. She has an adventurous little soul and would thrive with a family who enjoys including their dog in life, whether that means backyard play, walks, car rides, water days, or simply cuddling close after a day of fun. She is wonderful with other dogs and has been sweet with everyone she has met. With her loving, joyful temperament, we believe she would also do beautifully with children. She has that soft Golden heart paired with youthful enthusiasm, making her such a special girl for a family ready to love her, guide her, and enjoy all the happiness she brings. Phoenix sleeps in a crate at night, though she could absolutely transition to sleeping beside her person if that is what her family prefers. She is adaptable, affectionate, and eager to belong. She is not a barker and has a lovely, go-with-the-flow nature. She is learning to love car rides and is beginning to understand that the car means new adventures. She is also doing well on leash and continuing to gain confidence with each outing. Phoenix is great at bath time and loves being pampered, especially when water and cuddles are involved. Phoenix is the kind of girl who brings light into a home. She is playful without being overwhelming, sweet without being shy, and adventurous while still deeply loving. She is ready for a family who will see her for the beautiful individual she is and give her the life, love, and consistency she has always deserved. 🩵 Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/phoenix It covers her vaccines, microchip and registration, dental exam (her teeth were in great health,) her overall wellness exam (she is a very healthy girl,) and her spay. She was in heat during her spay so there was an in heat spay increase due to longer anesthesia time and her antibiotic injection given to aid in the healing of her spay especially being in heat. It also covers the months of care, grooming costs, and training we have provided for her here since with us. Phoenix is fully vetted, has been thoroughly examined, and medically cleared by our veterinarian for adoption 💗
