I’m Alfred. I know I might not make the best first impression from inside my kennel. This has been my “home” for a long time, and I can come off a little strong when meeting new people. Please don’t let that stop you from getting to know me! I just take a little time building trust, but once you’re in, you’re in for life. I tend to warm up to women a little faster, but no matter who you are, if you give me a chance, I’ll show you my sweet and loyal side. I love going on long walks and playing fetch. Give me a long-lasting chew toy or a bone, and I’ll be the happiest pup around. I’ve spent most of my life waiting for my person. Could it be you? The highlights…-Guardian at heart-I display clean kennel behavior -I’d make a great hiking buddy-Very devoted to my peopleMy ideal home would include…-Patience is key. After spending most of my time in a shelter, I will have gaps in my social skills with people and other animals. I’m a big scruffy ball of energy looking for someone who can keep up with me! I’ve got a heart full of love and a playful spirit, but I’ll be honest, I can be a bit stubborn. I love to roughhouse, and sometimes I forget that play biting isn’t the best way to show affection. That’s why I need a strong leader who will teach me good manners with patience and consistency. I have tons of energy, so a vigorous lifestyle will suit me best. If you love hiking, running, or just playing until we’re both exhausted, I’m your guy! I’m still working on my social skills and play style, so I’ll need someone who’s willing to help me learn the ropes.
