Story
Meet Nala! She is a beautiful, super sweet, goofy, playful seven-month-old puppy who loves to zoom and leap over everything (including other dogs)! She was rescued from the streets, so she needs a home where she can be supervised indoors while being outside in a secure, puppy-proof backyard, as she loves to go under fences and through holes. We believe Nala is half Italian greyhound, so she can run really fast! Sweet Nala is full of love and will knock you down to give you kisses and stick her whole head in your shirt and her nose in your ear and just smother you with love. When she tires herself out, she will fall asleep with her head on your shoulder. She has long legs like a baby deer and is a distinguished looking little lady. Although she weighs almost 30 pounds, Nala thinks she is tiny and loves to cuddle in your lap. She is energetic and loves to play, so she would do well with another non-aggressive dog. Once she trusts the other dog, she will play nonstop. Nala is still a puppy and loves to chew on everything, so she needs plenty of chew toys to keep her busy chewing on healthy objects. The puppy in her makes her want to chase cats so she is probably best in a home with no cats. Nala is still working on her leash skills. She is crate-trained and will go potty outside if you take her regularly; she is also pee pad trained when indoors. If you are looking for a loving, enthusiastic, energetic young dog, then Nala just might be your girl!

Story
Meet Bruno – Tiny Body, Big Heart Bruno is a 6-pound Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix with the sweetest soul and the most devoted little heart. At just 3½ years old, this tiny gentleman found himself surrendered when his owner could no longer keep him. Despite the change, Bruno has adjusted beautifully and is ready to find his forever person. Bruno is: Crate trained Housebroken and pee pad trained Great on leash Not destructive (no chewing or digging!) Completely indifferent to cats Not food aggressive Easy to medicate (tiny pills tucked in chicken work perfectly!) He’s a classic Italian Greyhound mix — a little sensitive at first, but deeply bonded once he trusts you. Bruno is extremely attached to his humans and would happily spend most of his day curled up in your lap. He does have a bit of lap possessiveness around other dogs, but it’s all talk — no nipping or concerning behavior. In fact, he has done well with other dogs overall and even handled visits from a large Golden Retriever, though he preferred the safety of being held. He’s not a big barker, but he is a “talker.” His excited chatter can sound like growling, but it’s simply his quirky way of expressing himself. Medical Bruno is neutered and currently on seizure medication. He has had three seizures in his lifetime and is doing well on his prescribed treatment. He takes medication three times daily, so he will need a home where someone is present and consistent — ideally a work-from-home adopter or a young retiree. He will need a veterinary relationship for ongoing bloodwork, vaccines, and prescription refills. He currently has about 40 days of medication on hand. Ideal Home Bruno would thrive: As an only dog, or with one friendly small dog In an apartment or townhome (thanks to pee pad skills) With someone home most of the day In a calm, stable environment He enjoys a yard and walks but is perfectly manageable in smaller living spaces. He’s currently on sensitive stomach kibble and doing well. Bruno is a loyal, loving little companion who simply wants to be close to his person. If you’re looking for a devoted lap dog with a gentle heart and a tiny frame, Bruno may be your perfect match. Currently in Sacramento Apply through Günter’s Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc. to meet Bruno. www.gunterslegacy.org/adopt ##2656109##

Story
Meet Maybelline! At just 7 months old, this petite Italian Greyhound mix is equal parts elegance and goofball charm. Weighing in at a dainty 11 pounds with long, graceful legs and a soft tan coat, Maybelline is the definition of a cuddle bug wrapped in a playful spirit. Maybelline is sweet, loyal, and loves being close to her person—honestly, she’d happily spend all day curled up in your lap if given the chance. She’s fully house-trained, well-mannered, and doesn’t require a crate since she’s not destructive. Whether you’re heading out for an adventure or staying in for a cozy day, she’s perfectly content just being by your side. She can be a little shy around men at first, but with a bit of patience, she warms up and becomes her affectionate self. With other dogs, she’s still figuring things out—she might give a little growl initially, but it’s all talk. Deep down, she wants to play and would likely thrive in a home with another friendly dog to help show her the ropes. Kids? She absolutely adores them. Her whole face lights up when she sees one, and she’s gentle and loving in their presence. She’s also a great listener and sticks close, making her a wonderful companion. Maybelline is spayed, up to date on all her vaccines, and ready to find her forever home. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful little shadow who will love you endlessly and keep you company through it all, Maybelline might just be your perfect match.

Story
Don’t be fooled by this 8 lb. Chihuahua’s size! Walter’s personality could fill a football stadium. This dynamo wants to be the center of your world, and deservedly so. He will binge watch every TV show, take that all important afternoon nap, and then be ready for a nice walk. Other dogs are tolerated, but Walter truly wants to be the star of the household. He's perfect for someone who works from home (he’d love to be your personal assistant) or someone who is retired (he's your buddy for adventures, gardening, shopping, etc)-- Walter’s not picky, his goal is to be your cool companion. Walter is also a foodie--he loves treats and food which makes him very trainable. Walter is suspicious at first of new people (aren’t we all) but give him a few days to settle in and he will be your best friend! This boy was found on the streets and had been hit by a car. Tails of the City stepped in, rescued him, and provided the medical treatment and love this scared and hurt pup needed. Story
Meet Dutch🤎, a stunningly handsome and charming almost 2-year-old boy with a rich, chocolate-brown coat and captivating blue eyes that sparkle with kindness🥰. This loving boy was welcomed into a wonderful family in the San Diego area about 8 months ago. Initially, Dutch was more reserved and fearful when rescued from the shelter, but with time, he blossomed into a confident companion for his family, except for the husband, around whom he seems anxious and stressed. Despite the husband's patient and loving approach, Dutch remains wary, prompting his family to consider finding a new home where he can thrive without fear. With his current family, Dutch has formed strong bonds with the wife and kids, who adore him dearly, but they've come to realize that a woman-only household might be the perfect solution for Dutch to live a stress-free life. His family believes Dutch may have had a negative experience with a man in the past, which has led to his hesitation around men unless they exhibit familiar characteristics. Importantly, Dutch has never shown aggression and is great with cats and other dogs, making him an excellent addition to any household. He's potty-trained, crate-trained, and loves spending time in his crate and bed. Dutch is neutered, vaccinated, and chipped, and his current family is heartbroken but hopeful that he'll find a loving home🏡 where he can receive all the love and care he deserves. If you're thinking of adding a loving companion to your family and believe you'd be the perfect match for Dutch, get your application in ASAP! This gorgeous boy will undoubtedly capture your heart💗with his loving nature.😻
