Story
Meet Stevie Wonder! 🎶💙 We think he is a one-year-old Italian Greyhound–Miniature Pinscher mix, but we aren't really sure, so we just call him our Texas Special! This gorgous 12 pound boy is striking with his merle coat and mesmerizing ice-blue eyes. Stevie turns heads everywhere he goes — but it’s his heart that truly shines. Stevie Wonder is deaf but is does not slow him down. He is an absolute sweetheart who loves nothing more than affection and connection. He melts when you rub his face and will happily return the favor with gentle, enthusiastic kisses. His loving nature makes him the perfect little companion for anyone looking for a loyal snuggle buddy. Don’t let his delicate frame fool you — Stevie gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes! He’s social, playful, and polite, adapting easily to the vibe of any canine crew. Whether lounging in the sun, trotting by your side, or curling up for a nap, Stevie Wonder is happiest when he’s close to the people (and pups!) he loves. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful boy to fill your home with love and light, Stevie Wonder is ready to serenade his way right into your heart. Email Jodi@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Story
Meet Thyra, a 6-month-old Italian Greyhound–Lab mix with a gentle heart and a big need for understanding. Before coming to us, she had never left her home, so the world is still very new and overwhelming to her. Despite that, she has shown us just how sweet, affectionate, and loving she can be with the adults she trusts. Thyra is scared of children and would be most comfortable in an adult-only home. She’s tolerant around other dogs but doesn’t really enjoy their company, so she may thrive as an only dog—or with a calm dog who won’t mind her preference for space. Her favorite thing in the world is snuggling, and once she feels safe, she’ll happily curl up with you for nap time and quiet companionship. Because she missed out on early socialization, Thyra is still learning how to navigate new environments and experiences. She’ll need patient adopters committed to helping her build confidence through gentle, positive behavior modification. With consistency, support, and a calm home, Thyra will blossom into the devoted, cuddly companion she’s meant to be. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. She's also an avid water enthusiast, always up for a splashing good time with the water hose. Niabi gets along with her housemates, though she's known to give them the once-over to size them up. Supervision ensures everyone gets along swimmingly. On a leash, she's eager but pulls with exuberance, a behavior we're working on refining.Chew toys are a must in Niabi's world - she loves them durable and entertaining. Story
Dandi! Watching this beautiful Great Pyrenees mix (likely with whippet or greyhound) run is watching poetry in motion. She is fast, graceful, & can turn on a dime. This is all done in play or merely for pure joy. Dandi does not have a prey drive. She is fine with cats. Dandi gets along famously with dogs of all sizes. This is fantastic as she must have at least one canine companion to help her manage her very high energy levels. Once her frenetic high spiritedness has been drained, she plays contentedly on her own with toys. She is affectionate, craves attention. Her ideal home: An active family Older children At least one canine companion A fenced yard with room for her to run She is not the type of dog to be crated & left alone for long periods. Attributes: Very high energy Must have at least one canine companion Crate trained Leash trained Cat safe Older children best Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
