Story
Avery has been in her foster home for two weeks, and she is doing fantastic! She is potty trained, kennel trained, and good on a leash. Her foster family says she has been an overall low-maintenance house guest. This girl is so full of love, and she gives it all to her fosters. Despite being about 45lbs, she seems to think she is a lap dog. Between her puppy dog eyes and fluffy fur, how could you say no? Avery is wonderful with every person she meets, and she always greets them with a wagging tail and leans into them for attention. Avery is also friendly with other dogs, but her best interest is to find a dog-free forever home. Having to fend for herself outside for a year and a half, she has food aggression and mild resource guarding towards other pups. She shows absolutely no signs of it with humans, and she has been trusting of all people since day 1. We don’t want to risk an incident happening with another dog when she is practically perfect on her own. Avery’s foster family has nothing but great things to say about her, and we know she will make a fantastic companion for someone in the near future.
Avery is a 2 year old Old English Sheepdog. If you are interested in adopting her, please visit rescuerowinc.org to fill out an application!

Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
