In Norse mythology, Odin was known as the All-Father, a wise and powerful god who sacrificed an eye in exchange for knowledge. Our Odin has his own story. This 7-month-old Siamese boy came to us with a serious injury to his left eye and some neurological challenges. He walks with a little wobble, doesn't see well in the dark, and we suspect his hearing isn't quite perfect either. His past has left him a little different—and understandably, a little unsure of the world around him. But don't mistake different for defeated. Odin has discovered something he absolutely LOVES: hunting. 🏹 Give him a wand toy and suddenly this mysterious little Viking transforms into a kitten—stalking, pouncing, chasing, and showing off his impressive hunting skills. Toys on sticks are definitely his preferred method of communication. Hands? Not so much. Odin is not a friendly, cuddly kitten right now. He doesn't enjoy being petted, isn't comfortable with people reaching for him, and can be fractious when he feels overwhelmed. We don't know whether he'll ever become a cat who wants to curl up in your lap. And we're not going to make promises we can't keep. What we can promise is that Odin is worth getting to know. He needs a patient person who understands that trust isn't something you demand—it's something you earn. Someone who will let him approach on his own terms, build a relationship through play, and celebrate the little victories along the way. Maybe someday Odin will decide that humans aren't so bad. Maybe he'll surprise us and become a completely different cat. Or maybe he'll always be a little wild, a little wobbly, and very much Odin. Either way, he deserves a home that doesn't expect him to be something he's not.
