Rescue FAQs

S.A.M. is: Supporting more stringent enforcement of animal cruelty laws; Advocating for and rescuing shelter animals; Making a difference in TX communities through foster and education programs. Sam Saves Animal Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of animals that are euthanized in shelters by helping them find appropriate, forever homes. About 1.5 million cats and dogs are killed in U.S. shelters each year due to overcrowding. With that being said, our primary goal is to eliminate this unnecessary killing and improve the overall quality of life for our companion animals. The purpose of our all-volunteer group of animal lovers is to rescue, foster, provide medical care, and give love to unwanted, homeless, neglected, and abused animals of Texas. We promote and support early spay/neuter programs and educate the community of the importance in keeping our pets up-to-date on vaccinations. The number of animals saved by our rescue is dependent upon our volunteers, donations from the community, and fundraising events. We also network with other rescue groups and humane organizations to help find transportation, fosters, and permanent homes for adoptable pets across the United States. Animals placed in our foster care are adopted-out through a thorough screening process to ensure that each animal will be going to a secure and loving environment. The safety and lifelong well-being of our rescued animals is of utmost importance, which is why prospective homes are carefully evaluated. Our promise to our rescued pets is that once they enter our rescue their suffering is over. Through a diligent screening and interview process we do our best to guarantee that their new forever home is truly just that, forever.
