Shelter FAQs

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes. NOTE: The Shelter address does not register correctly on Google maps. Our Shelter is east of the Charter cable office in Austin MN. This is off of Hwy 218 south - our shelter is east of the highway just off the eastern tip of Oakland Avenue. The official address is 101 22nd Street SE

Additional adoption info

For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150
