Rescue FAQs

Faith McNitt started Feline Matchmakers in January of 2020. We are a small organization that focuses on owner surrenders. The larger organizations focus on shelter pulls, so we feel this is the most needed service in Wilmington, NC. We also work TNR cases in small numbers. We are looking for fosters to build our organization. All fosters work on a charity basis, as we do not yet have the funding to pay for anything other than medical expenses. If interested in joining us to save cats from being euthenized or put in shelters, please contact us.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. An application is required in order to determine if the cat is the right match for you.
  2. Meet the Pet
    1. You may meet the cat at our foster home or a mutually agreed location.
  3. Approve Application
    1. If you rent, we must have landlord approval. All current pets in the household must be up to date on vaccinations.
  4. Take the Pet Home
    1. The cat will be delivered and a home check done to be sure it's a safe environment. The adoption fee is collected.
  5. Interview
    1. A few follow ups will be made via text. The animal may be returned at any time if the adoption doesn't work out.

Additional adoption info

We aim to match the right family with the right cat and vice versa. If we don't have the right cat for you, we can find one!
