Shelter FAQs

We are a nonprofit animal shelter located in rural Sussex County, Va! Our business hours are from 1pm-5pm, Monday-Friday. Scheduled appointments on the weekends are welcome.

Adoption steps

  1. Meet the Pet
    1. For the comfort of you and our animals, before adopting we require a meet & greet with anyone living in your home, including other pets
  2. Submit Application
    1. Fill out our adoption application so we can review and approve you! We want to make sure our dogs/cats are going to a great, safe home.
  3. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. After being approved, you will need to review our contract. You must agree to abide by our policies and procedures.
  4. Pay Fee
    1. $100 for dogs. $10 adoption fee, $90 vetting (spay/neuter, all shots included)
      $60 for cats. $10 adoption fee, $50 vetting fee
  5. Take the Pet Home
    1. Once the process has been approved, you can now take your new family member home!
