Additional adoption info

We are very flexible with adoption fees. The fees are in place to ensure that we can cover the medical expenses of that pet as well as for basic rescue upkeep. If we find that the price on a pet may be too much for the adopter but they are the perfect fit, we try our best to accommodate and lower the price to meet the needs of the adopter.

We do communicate with all adopters after the adoption process has ended to checkup on the welfare of their new furry friend. We do not perform home checks however we do ask for pictures or videos of them to see how they have adjusted to their new happy lifestyle.

For those who have other pets at home, we ask that you bring them with you if you are looking to adopt a dog from us. We work with all of our dogs individually and expose them to many elements such as other dogs, other animals, people of various ages and many different environments such as parks, busy streets, etc. With that being said, some dogs still may be selective when choosing their furry friends so we want to ensure that all dogs get along with each other wonderfully to ensure the safety of all dogs involved as well as all people. We have an area for your pet to play outside while you look for your new furry addition. If you are unable to bring your pet, then we may require you to participate in the sleepover option if the pet you are choosing is dog selective.

We also offer the option of a sleepover for those who want to see if the pet will do well in their home. Sleepover lengths range between 1-3 days and allow owners to test the dog out in their home with their pets or children without any commitment. Not all animals are available for the option of sleepover so feel free to ask if the one you are interested in is available for this option.

About Happily Ever After Pet Rescue

We are a no-kill pet rescue located in Florida whose goal is to find forever homes for pets who have been given up on. We mainly receive our dogs through owners who were no longer able to care for them or from kill shelters in an attempt to give them a second chance. All dogs deserve happy lives and believe that every dog has the ability to live a happy lifestyle with the person made just for them.

Happily Ever After Pet Rescue's adopted pets

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Sanford, FL.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
