The Jeffersonville Animal Shelter is owned and operated by the City of Jeffersonville, and provides animal shelter services to all of Clark County through a series of inter-local agreements.



Our mission is to provide every animal that enters the shelter with the best care possible. We want them to feel comfortable, safe, and loved while awaiting their forever homes.

Our shelter offers services for Clark County Residents. We adopt to anyone in our surrounding area.

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
    1. Come to the shelter to see all the cats and dogs that are up for adoption.
  2. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Our shelter staff will review the adoption contract with adopters.
  3. Pay Fee
    1. Male dog adoption fee $100
      Female dog adoption fee $125
      Cat and kitten adoption fee $40
  4. Take the Pet Home
    1. After our shelter staff goes over all the medical and micro-chipping information you will be ready to go!
