Rescue FAQs

New England Puppy Rescue is dedicated to rescuing neglected, unwanted puppies, regardless of zip code, that are abandoned, in high-kill shelters, or owner-surrendered, and giving them the veterinary care they need, and deserve, and placing them in loving, forever homes.
Hartford county, Litchfield County, New Haven County- all of Connecticut and beyond!

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
  2. Approve Application
  3. Meet the Pet
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
  5. Pay Fee
  6. Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

The Adoption Process is simple:
*See our adoptable puppies here! If the puppy is listed, it is still available!
*Fill out an Adoption Application on our website for approval. You can not adopt -or- meet a puppy without this step
*One of our adoption coordinators will email if you have been approved for the puppy you applied for, or submitted an application for pre-approval
*Once approved, you set up a meeting for the adoption day listed on your puppy's profile.

We have a careful process that includes all puppies in foster homes in Connecticut before adoption, a meet-before-you-pay philosophy and believe in *no* off the truck adoptions.
