Rescue FAQs

Blue's Whiskers Lodge (BWL) rescue is a private independent certified 501(c)(3) rescue that started in 2022. In 2024, we expanded our rescue to include a Cat Cafe in historic downtown Mount Airy, NC. Our purpose is to help the community and to be a rescue that focuses on the passion of the founders. We have a passion for care of both animals and our community. We strive to create a warm friendly environment, well socialized cats and kittens, and be a resource for the community for responsible pet ownership.

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
    1. We encourage everyone to stop by Blue's Whiskers Lodge/Cat Cafe to interact and find a cat/kitten that suits you best!
  2. Submit Application
    1. Adoption applications can be filled out online at https://blueswhiskerslodge.com/home/adoptions/
  3. Interview
  4. Approve Application
  5. Sign Adoption Contract
  6. Pay Fee
  7. Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

If for any reason, now or in the future, you cannot safely continue to care for the pet adopted from Blue's Whiskers Lodge, I consent to surrendering the pet back to Blue's Whiskers Lodge. I agree to surrendering and/all adoption fees paid now/previously to Blue's Whiskers Lodge and do NOT expect any refund.
