A Place of Hope Small Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit small breed dog rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We rescue and re-home small breed owner surrender, stray, and shelter dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a facility. The dogs in our care live in private homes with one of our fabulous foster families in and around the Pensacola area getting lots of TLC until they are adopted. Each dog is evaluated for placement in a home best suited to its needs and personality. At a minimum, every dog has a wellness checkup, is spayed/neutered, has age appropriate shots, is heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Dogs over 1 year of age receive a ProHeart 12 shot for heartworm prevention. We also do dentals, surgeries, and other treatments as needed. We adopt within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. We do not ship or transport our dogs. Local applicants are given first consideration.

Adoption fees vary, but average between $300-$500, and help with vetting and rescue expenses. Vet references and home visits are part of our adoption process. An adoption application must be submitted for review prior to meeting a dog. Submitting an adoption application does not obligate you to adopt or guarantee approval. If you do not get a confirmation email, we did not receive your application.
