Rescue FAQs

DAR&E is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of homeless Dobermans in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC,eastern West Virginia and southern PA. Our primary directive is to provide veterinary care and foster homes for rescued Dobermans and to place them into loving, permanent homes through our adoption process. We provide support and camaraderie to adoptive families throughout the lives of the Dobermans we rescue. Once a DAR&E dog; always a DAR&E dog.

Additional adoption info

We only adopt to approved adopters who live in the Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, DC, southern PA or eastern West Virginia areas. We do not make exceptions. We perform home visits, vet checks and require an adoption fee to cover part of our costs. Our dogs are all up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
