Shelter FAQs

The Gloucester County Animal Shelter functions as an impoundment/adoption facility which temporarily houses lost, stray, unwanted or abandoned pets for the 24 municipalities in Gloucester County, until such time as they are reclaimed by their owner or adopted by a new family. The Shelter also provides a 24-hour emergency service for calls regarding animals that are sick, injured or posing an immediate threat to the public. We have a very dedicated staff and volunteer core who work very hard to see that these homeless pets are given a second chance and placed in a proper homes. All animals are spayed/neutered at the time of their adoption and up to date on their age appropriate vaccinations, Heartworm tested (for dogs) or feline combination tested (for cats) and microchipped.
