Rescue FAQs

Local Dog Rescue is a voluntary all-breed rescue dedicated to providing hands-on care to unwanted dogs in and around the Thunder Bay area. My rescue is not a registered charity or non-profit organization. I am just a guy who loves dogs, doing what I can to help as many as I can.

Most of the dogs I take in are larger breeds and were either stray, abandoned or scheduled to be put to sleep. While each dog is different in age, appearance and character, they all have one thing in common - they are all hoping for a loving home to call their own!

Additional adoption info

All dogs will be spayed/neutured before leaving for a new home. An application is required and dogs will be adopted ONLY to approved, indoor homes. An adoption donation is requested to cover the veterinary costs for spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip. Please read the website for more information.
