Rescue FAQs

Oreo's is an ALL-VOLUNTEER Minnesota non-profit organization (501(c)(3) filed) whose primary purpose is to provide adoption services for stray, abandoned, and surrendered cats/kittens who may be difficult to place through traditional shelter settings. Our goal is to find safe, permanent, loving homes for as many felines as possible regardless of the reason they are homeless. As often as possible, we assist our local city shelter by rescuing cats/kittens who are about to be euthanized because of overcrowding in the shelter. (A constant and horrific circumstance.) We are strongly against the senseless act of euthanasia of adoptable animals. These kitties end up this way through no fault of their own and deserve that second chance that our volunteers and foster families can give them. Oreo's does not have a shelter. We rely on foster homes to assist us in finding permanent, loving homes for the displaced felines. All of our kitties are fostered by caring individuals and families to help them adjust to family life and make the adjustment into their "forever homes" as easy as possible. We are NOT funded and rely on the contributions of the compassionate.
We are located in Proctor, MN, near Duluth. We adopt locally, but have also adopted kitties long distance.

Additional adoption info

All of Oreo's kitties are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, are dewormed, and are up-to-date on shots.

Our Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $95
Adult Cats: $75

Our adoption fees help defray the costs assumed by Oreo's for the care of each kitty we take in.

Once you have a cat in mind, download and fill out our Adoption Application, and then email it to oreosadoptions@yahoo.com for consideration.
