Rescue FAQs

Rescue for Life is a small animal no-kill rescue group operated out of Spruce Grove, Alberta. Cats and dogs are fostered by volunteers until there forever homes are found. While in foster care the animals receive full vet care. All animals adopted out by Rescue for Life are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed. All foster and adoption homes are screened by Rescue for Life and the best match for both the animal(s) and the family is chosen. An adoption fee covers a portion of the money put into the animals. Rescue for Life also has "Special Needs Cases" that require additional funds above and beyond a standard rescue. Rescue for Life is involved in educating the general public about responsible pet ownerhsip including the importance of spaying/neutering your pet(s). Rescue for Life relies soley on volunteers and donations.
Adoptions can be completed all over Western Canada.

Additional adoption info

The adoption process of our group includes a contractual agreement between Rescue for Life and the adoptee(s).

An adoption fee ensures the genuine interest of the adoptee and also covers a small portion of the funds invested into each animal.

An Adoption Application Form must be filled out and a phone interview must be completed. A meet and greet will be set up to so that the potential adoptive family can meet the pet(s) they are interested in. We have a minimum 24 hour grace period where families are requested to talk as a family and make sure that the pet they are interested in is the one they are will to make the commitment to for it's whole life. We also complete a home inspection prior to the adoption and we also complete a small education session that covers many areas of being a responsible pet guardian.

We do not do trials in homes. This is disruptive to both the animal, the fostering system, and also the potential adoptive family.
