Rescue FAQs

Pawtectors is a not-for-profit, no-kill, animal rescue who is operated only by our dedicated volunteers. We are a small group of volunteers who work hard to place abandoned, abused, or shelter dogs on death row into new, loving homes. We are a multi-state rescue. We work with very high-kill pounds all over with dogs and puppies that do not have much chance at living more than a week after arriving there... and we do take in owner surrenders. Adoption fee includes age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, HW test/prevention/treatment, spay/neuter (typically at 5 months and older), and any other needed vet care. We strive to socialize, train, and care for our animals the best we can until they are placed into their forever homes. All of our dogs are temperament tested and we work on all of their issues. We are a network of foster homes, meaning we do not have a facility. All people interested in an animal must first fill out an application and be pre-approved before setting up a meeting.
All of CT and most of New England.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please e-mail as soon as possible. We will get back to you as soon as we can. To adopt an animal, you must fill out an application and must be pre-approved before meeting any of the animals and all viewings are by appointment only. All animals require an adoption donation which covers the cost of any vet care they have recieved while in our care. Adoption fee includes age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, HW test/prevention/treatment, spay/neuter (typically at 5 months and older), and any other needed vet care.
Please note that the adoption fees may vary by the amount of vet care, medications, grooming, or other treatment each dog needs. Please check individual bios for more information.
