Rescue FAQs

We are a small rescue taking in abused, neglected, abandoned and "got too big" Great Danes. Because we live in an area where there are many stray dogs, we also have various other breeds, or mixed breeds as well. We also have a few cats. We take in these magnificent animals when they are at their low point, and rehabilitate them back to the noble gentle giants they are. We have become known for being able to help the "really sick" Danes (or other dogs), and while this work is extremely rewarding, we are always in need of donations, supplies and foster homes! You can see some of the Danes we have already helped on our website at www.scdanerescue.homestead.com.
While our primary focus is South Carolina and surrounding areas, we do adopt out of state.

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption contract, a vet reference, personal references and a home visit for adoption. We prefer a fenced yard, but may make an exception in some cases. We do not place dogs in homes with intact animals. Our animals are placed on an adoption contract which requires you to return the animal to us should the need arise for the dog to be re-homed. Our adoptees must be kept as indoor pets, outside only when supervised.
