Rescue FAQs

Second Chance Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit all volunteer organization created to help the many abandoned pets in our area find shelter and new forever homes. Most of our animals have been found by good samaritans who bring them to us, or from pet owners who need to surrender their pets for various reasons. Each animal in our care receives thorough vet examinations and any vet services needed to ensure good health. Each is also evaluated for temperament to help us determine the best possible home situation and if any behavior modification and/or training is needed prior to adoption. The majority of our funding is obtained through adoption fees and donations.
Second Chance Humane Society serves the Johnstown, Ohio and Licking, Franklin and Delaware County areas.

Additional adoption info

In order to adopt and find the best pet for you and the best forever home for our animals, we require an adoption application to be filled out. Once the application is filled out, we review the information. Potential adopters are notifed by our Adoption Coordinator with the results of our revew.

Our fee is $125.00 which includes veterinary care and s/n up to the date of adoption.
