Rescue FAQs

www.beaglebuddies.org We are a small rescue in Central Indiana using a small network of foster homes. We rescue older adult and senior beagles and work to place in permanent loving homes. Older adult and senior dogs have an especially hard time finding a loving home when either surrendered to a shelter or found as a stray and turned into animal control. Adults and seniors make the most wonderful pets and companions. They are typically obediant and intelligent and very easy to train using effective consistant interaction. We are committed to finding loving homes for older adults and seniors who are unfortunate enough to find themselves in a shelter homeless in their older years. We do not have a facility and can only take a limited number of dogs into our rescue. We pull from municipal animal facilities where senior dogs are not likely to be adopted before their holding time is up. We do not accept unwanted pets from owners but will provide guidance via email or phone on how to go about finding a new home for your pet. Please contact us, or your local humane society, before placing your animal as free to good home in any type of classified ad. If you need help with keeping your animal we can give you information about how to overcome issues.

Additional adoption info

Complete our online adoption application found at www.beaglebuddies.org. Submit the application form and we will schedule a time to meet the pet. If interested in adopting we require a home visit and an adoption agreement with a fee. Our adoption fees are $100 if over 5 years, $125 if younger than 5 years but older than 1 year, and $175 if younger than 1 year. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, are up to date on vaccinations, and a copy of vet records is provided upon adoption to set up a file at your vet. We supply collar, temporary ID tag until you can use till you get one, and leash. All beagles are micro-chipped as well.
