Rescue FAQs

"SoCo Rescue" is a registered 501(c)3 organization with a valid GA Dept of Agriculture Rescue license. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for those animals that we take in and work diligently to place them into the right home. While we house only dogs at our facility, we do work with other groups that have cats available for adoption. We try to help any animal in need, regardless of it's species We fully support the "No Kill" philosophy.
Located just outside of Glenwood, GA, and within Wheeler Co. While our main focus is within our own county we do try to assist where ever and whenever we can. Wheeler Co has no other rescue, shelter or animal control in which to help the extremely high number of unwanted, neglected and/or abandoned animals. Wheeler Co doesn't even have a county ordinance for the protection of it's animals, making it very difficult to try and control the massive amount of breeding between animals which leads to many unwanted litters.

A number of our dogs/puppies may not be listed for adoption as they may be going through their vaccination/assessment period. We encourage people to give as much information about what they're looking for in a new pet as possible. Chances are, we may have what you're looking for.
