Rescue FAQs

I've always loved dogs. I started Hearts of Hope Rescue to help out the abandoned, homeless and unwanted dogs in my area. All dogs and puppies are vaccinated, wormed, checked for heartworms and spayed/neutered when old enough. I receive no monetary help from the state or county. I've had very little in donations. The money to pay for vetcare, food, treats, etc for the dogs comes from the adoption fees and out of my salary as a legal secretary. Some of the dogs/puppies are in foster care, but I supply the food and vet care. I am licensed with the Missouri Department of Agriculture as an animal rescue and with the Missouri Secretary of State as a Non Profit Organization.
Hearts of Hope Rescue serves the rural Missouri counties of Gasconade and Osage.

Additional adoption info

An adoption application is sent to any party inquiring about adopting a dog/puppy. References are required and will be checked. Once the application is received we will be in touch with you with a day or two. We need time to contact references. Adoption fees vary from $125 to $250.00. Once an application is approved, a time and place to meet the dog/puppy is arranged. A contract is also required to be signed before the adoption is finalized, which includes that the dog/puppy will live indoors, will be provided with quality food, water and a safe home, will be kept up to date on vaccinations and kept on a preventative for heartworms and fleas. You must also return the dog/puppy to Hearts of Hope should the adoption not work out for any reason during the animals lifetime. When adopting a puppy too young to be spayed/neutered a $50.00 deposit is added to the adoption fee which is returned to you once the procedure is done. Hearts of Hope reserves the right to take back the dog if sterilization is not done by the time the dog is 7 months old or we find that the dog is being abused or neglected.
