The mission of the Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Placer SPCA) is to enhance the lives of companion animals and support the human-animal bond.
We offer programs for the pets and people of Placer County, including adoptions, lost and found, low-cost spay and neuter assistance, humane education programs, emergency financial assistance for pet owners, free behavior advice, and low-cost microchips and rabies vaccines.

Adoption steps
- Interview
- Call and tell us what animal you're interested in and we discuss all aspects of the pet. If it's not a match, we can help you find one
- Submit Application
- We will set up an appointment time for you to meet the pet and collect a Companion Request Form from you.
- Sign Adoption Contract
- At your appointment we will give you an opportunity to meet the pet and make a final decision. If all goes well, you will take the pet home.
