Rescue FAQs

We are a small rescue, with one main foster home. We do use other foster homes from time to time, but usually fosters decide a litter of puppies or kittens is a little much to have to deal with constantly. Due to only having one (possibly two or three) available homes, and we limit one, maybe two litters of similar age/size per foster, we usually only have a few animals in our care at one time. We take in kittens and puppies under 1 year old, if we have the available space. We will also take in nursing mothers, when available.
We serve mainly the Yakima and Kittitas Counties, but on occasion, are willing to take in animals from out of county, given we have room. And we accept out of county adoptions.

Additional adoption info

We have a fairly simple adoption form. Each adoption fee can be different. We take each puppy and kitten as a case-by-case basis and look at potential adoptees the same. Do not feel discouraged if you feel you may not meet typical shelter/rescue standards for adopting a pet. If we feel you don't meet our standards, we do help out. All animals are flea free, dewormed, and when of age/size altered, or they come with a prepaid slip for Selha Vet. If they are too young for alteration, we do require a contract to asure you either keep their spay appointment, or reschedule immediately and notify us of your new appointment.. All puppies are vaccinated for Rabies, and given their first combonation shots. All kittens are given their first shots as well. All nursing mothers are weaned and altered before adoption.

We only take item donations. For more information on what we need, visit our website, or email us at Yakimas-Kittens-N-Dogs@hotmail.com No monetary donations please!
